My wife's XK8. Great running car, very reliable, fast and comfortable. New front brakes and rotors. I would drive it to California and back. Black paint still nice with normal wear. Nice original interior with normal wear , see pics. Tires have 50% left. One small dent on passenger side front fender (see pic).
Clear "lemon" NJ title: it means that the car was bought back early in its life by Jaguar because of a recall. The car was fixed and re-sold by Jaguar. There is a sticker in the door that shows the recall. The car kept the lemon title since but that doesn't affect the ability to drive and register the car anywhere. The power top is disconnected and the top has to be open and close manually which is an easy operation. The Jag dealer said it's due to a faulty safety module that I found to be available for $208 on ebay. The car has intermittent faulty message warnings: ABS, Stability control and sometime Rear bulb. Jaguar Ray Catena in Edison diagnosed a faulty ABS module and one wheel speed sensor. I have found both these parts easily available on ebay for $50 and $59, much cheaper than at the Jag dealer! I am selling the car as is and will not make these repairs. Spare wheel has the original brand new Pirelli spare tire. The car just passed the NJ inspection good for 2 years. Autocar compares new Maserati Quattroporte to Jaguar XJ
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe took the 2014 Maserati Quattroporte on a spin along snowy mountain roads to test it for a specific brief: as a limousine for the chauffeured class. It's sporting credentials are impressive: Twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8, 532 horsepower, 475 pound-feet of torque in casual circumstances that rises to 532 lb-ft in overboost, a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour sprint of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 191 mph.
However, citing Maserati's desire to not just increase its sales to 50,000-per-annum by 2015, but to sell many more of its cars in China, Sutcliffe wanted to find out if the livery side of the Quattroporte could match its sport sedan side. So after taking the pilot's seat and trying out the sport settings, Sutcliffe hops in back to test out the CEO's seat.
Then he compares the Quattroporte against the long-wheelbase Jaguar XJ with its supercharged V8, a sedan that's 15,000 pounds less expensive than the Maserati. Thu, 11 Sep 2014An automaker with as rich a heritage as Jaguar is bound to create a few experts along the way... and some divergent opinions, too. So on the eve of the debut of the new XE, Jaguar brought together three experts to whittle down the long list of classic Leaping Cats to just ten.
For this gargantuan task, it brought in Ian Callum (who, as the company's chief designer, knows a thing or two about Jaguars), Lord Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox (the Earl of March and founder of the Goodwood Revival) and Brian Johnson - who may be better known as the frontman of AC/DC, but also a classic car enthusiast, collector and racer in his own right.
So what did the designer, the nobleman and the celebrity choose? The SS100, XK120 (namely number NUB 120), the C-Type that competed at the 1953 Mille Miglia, the D-Type that won at Reims, the Mk II sedan, the E-Type that served as the Geneva show car, the one and only XJ13, company founder Sir William Lyons' personal XJ6 S1, the TWR XJS touring car and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9.
Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China
Wed, 22 Oct 2014Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.
