1998 Jaguar Xk8 Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Upland, California, United States
Lots of pictures below description. 1998 XK8 This beautiful example is the perfect color for an English sports car: British Racing Green with Cashmere interior. This car gets lots of looks and thumbs-ups when it drives by. The body is excellent, and the paint is brilliant. The bolster on the driver’s seat shows some wear, but the rest of the interior is very good. The tan top is in good condition. The wheels are in very good condition. The engine runs strong, and the transmission is very smooth. It drives great with no weird noises or surprising behavior. The power convertible top works well. It’s very comfortable with the top up or down. A perfect sports car for every day use. The previous owner just spent $2300 replacing most gaskets and hoses including the lower radiator and heater hoses. An inspection at this time showed that the engine already has metal timing chain tensioners. The coolant reservoir and sensor were replaced this year ($260) as was the battery ($140). Nexen tires were installed last July and have been driven about 6000 miles. The cup holder is jammed shut, and since the cupholders on these cars are pretty worthless, I haven't done anything about it. It comes with 2 keys and one remote. No manuals, but I can show you where to download them online for free. If you have any questions please submit them through ebay or call me at the number below. Payment: A $500 deposit via paypal is due within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Full payment is required within 5 days of the end of the auction unless you make other arrangements with me. If you want to take the car immediately, I require cash or wire transfer. I will take a cashier’s check if you want to wait for it to clear. Banks can hold cashier’s checks for up to 10 business days.

Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor
Wed, 01 May 2013Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."
Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee season 2 opens with Sarah Silverman and Jag E-Type
Sat, 15 Jun 2013Season Two of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee kicked this week in style. How much more style is there to be had than in a 1969 Jaguar XKE, after all? This time around, Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman spend some time driving around in the "slinky, sexy" Jag, talking comedy and then grabbing breakfast.
In addition to the kickoff of the show's second season, this episode also represents the start of a 24-episode sponsorship with Acura. The original deal promised short ads at the beginning and end of each episode, but this time around, Seinfeld "stumbles upon" a 2014 Acura RLX, which is obviously - and admittedly - the work of product integration. Scroll down to watch Seinfeld and Silverman exchange banter with the Jag's beauty as a happy backdrop.
Jay Leno's Garage drives Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS
Tue, 27 May 2014Steve McQueen might be the coolest American male of the 20th century. With movies like Bullitt and Le Mans, McQueen established himself as the king of cool of his era, and on the list of actors you would pick for a fantasy racing team - he or Paul Newman are the natural first choices. The latest Jay Leno's Garage video highlights one of McQueen's most special cars - a 1956 Jaguar XKSS.
Just 16 XKSS models were made because a fire at the Jaguar factory halted production. It was meant to be a street version of the company's very successful D-Type racer, with a modified version of its 3.4-liter straight-six-engine and a four-speed manual gearbox. McQueen clearly had an eye for great vehicles. He drove his Jag around Los Angeles years after it was a cutting-edge piece of technology. Since then, it became part of the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. Autoblog's The List even took a ride in it when the show visited the museum.
The XKSS is one of the pinnacles of automotive design of the '50s, and its association with McQueen makes this example even more extraordinary. Leno is in love with the car from the moment he sees it, and it's hard to argue with him. Between its emphasized curves and raspy exhaust, this is one sexy Jag. Scroll down to get an eyeful and earful from one of McQueen's favorite cars.
