This is a 100% original Jag, no paint work EVER, all original interior, original top, all of which are excellent, new tires, original tonneau cover. Check out the photos, it is really nice. I have been using the Jag as my daily driver for the past 2 years, about 20,000 miles. It is a joy to drive, quick with great handeling. The stability control light has been on since I purchased it and does not affect anything. during the last few months a computer code (P1000) has come up a few times, it indicates poor performance and engine fault, the engine runs rough, I turn it off then back on and it seems ok, but there is obviously a potential problem. There are no Jaguar dealers in Macon and I prefer to not transport it to Atlanta for repairs. My solution is to try to sell it AS-IS. I have found used computers for $200 and new ones for $2000, don,t know which one or how to replace, hopfully you do and can remedy the issue.

You will not find a nicer 97 anywhere. Considering that this one is all original you have to know it has been well cared for all its life.

My reserve is very reasonable. For safety sake I would not do a long trip. I did drive to Atlanta and back, 160 miles with no issue. I have stopped driving the Jag and it is in the barn photoed. Short term storage is not a problem, as long as it is paid for. Thanks please call or e me with all your questions. Bill 478-808-6067.

PS  Top and windows work perfectly. Previous owner stored the car over winters in a heated garage and drove it only summers near the NC coast.  Thanks again.

2014 Jaguar XFR-S is the power and the fury

Thu, 29 Nov 2012

If there's something wrong about a sedan with a 550-horsepower supercharged V8, we don't want to hear about it. Instead, we want to marvel at the car in person, which is fortuitous because Jaguar has officially unveiled the 2014 XFR-S at the 2012 LA Auto Show. That blown 5.0-liter V8 dishes up a full 502 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to shuttle the four-door to 60 mph in a scant 4.4 seconds. And, thanks to a start stop system and a few other fuel-saving tricks, the 2014 XFR-S gets away without being hit by the gas guzzler tax.
That's all good news, but we're just as excited about the fact that engineers managed to crank up the vehicle's chassis stiffness by a ludicrous 30 percent. Stiffer dampers and springs also give the car a little more poise, and a wide-open exhaust lets the whole world know you're kicking down their door. You know, in case the electric blue paint and wild body work didn't tip your hand. Check out the full gallery above for a closer look.

Jaguar envisions future without V8 engines

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

With tighter emissions and fuel economy regulations looming, Jaguar may have to do more than make a small, fuel-efficient hatchback to lower its model range's consumption figures - it also might give up its venerable V8 power, Drive reports. But not anytime soon, says Steven de Ploey, Jaguar's product and marketing director, who recognizes that the V8 can be replaced only by something that offers the same, or better, performance. But he has a word of caution: "We are not wedded to V8s."
In the meantime, de Ploey says there are other ways to reduce emissions. One of the first steps Jaguar could take is to shift away from the use of superchargers, which aren't as good as turbochargers at maintaining efficiency and making power. But he adds that supercharging still is "at the heart of Jaguar's performance proposition," and that the company has addressed the current downsizing trend by "replacing our naturally aspirated V8 with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6."
Consider one of de Ploey's comments on the cancelled C-X75 supercar (pictured) for some clue about Jaguar's future: "Some of the stuff we have already exploited to the extreme in the C-X75 is the kind of thinking for us and is an essential test bed to see how we could evolve from today to something that is sustainable in the future."

Jaguar could yet offer more hardcore F-Type R-S

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Jaguar pulled a fast one on us all when it unexpectedly shoehorned all 550 horsepower of the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the XKR-S into the new F-Type Coupe to supersede the existing V8 S model with the F-Type R. But that's just the beginning, according to the latest intel coming from the UK.
According to Autocar, in speaking to Jaguar design director Ian Callum during the coupe's unveiling at the LA Auto Show, the British automaker could yet offer R-S and R-S GT versions of the F-Type. Just what mechanical changes those would bring when the F-Type R already packs the company's top engine remains to be seen, but given that the same engine also powers the flagship XJR performance saloon, we could envision Jaguar developing an even more powerful version for R-S versions of the little coupe and big sedan.
The GT version, meanwhile, would likely offer more extreme aero and a lighter form for the truly performance-obsessed. Considering that the new top-of-the-line F-Type is already pushing the hundred-grand mark, you can bet any R-S and R-S GT version would approach double the base F-Type's $65k sticker price.
