Jaguar Xjs Convertible 4.0 Black on 2040-cars
Kennesaw, Georgia, United States
This car has been one of my daily drivers for the last 2 years. Recently added another Jag and need the space, so this kitty is looking for a new home. The exterior has lost some of it's original luster, but a good polish could get it back. Some scratches and minor dings can be found as well. All wood is in very good condition, so is the interior. The convertible top hydraulics work perfect, the top is in good condition. It runs and tracks great and was used frequently for long-distance trips to the Carolinas. The long wheelbase makes it a great GT, it just loves to cruise down the highway... Jaguar's 4.0 6 cyl engine is easily the most bullet-proof they've ever made and it this one runs like clockwork. The T-400 transmission shifts smooth and had an oil change approx. 8k ago. Tires have about 5k, so do the brakes. The auxiliary cooling fan died about a year ago and was replaced with an OEM unit. The power antenna stopped working, but I prefer to keep it down anyway as it's not a pretty sight... Comes with several spare parts such as brake accumulator, brake pump and a right taillight cover (these things are nearly impossible to find as they stopped making them right after the car went out of production) |

Ecurie Ecosse collection brings in millions
Wed, 04 Dec 2013It's rare to see an entire racing team's collection go up for auction at once, but that's just what happened this past weekend at Bonhams' new headquarters in London, where there Ecurrie Ecosse collection brought in top dollar (or pound, anyway).
The collection, whose consignment we first reported on back in September, included a smattering of Jaguars, other classic racers and an iconic transporter truck, all decked out in the same blue and white livery of the Scottish flag. After reportedly feverish bidding on Sunday, the 1952 Jaguar C-Type sold for £2,900,000 ($4.75m), the '56 short-nose D-Type for another £2,600,000 ($4.26m), and the transporter for a shocking £1,800,000 (nearly $3 million) - all to the same unnamed American collector. A 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster went to another buyer for a record £707,000 ($1.16m).
With Ringo Star's Facel Vega selling for £337,500 ($550k) and Michael Schumacher's Benetton B194 fetching another £617,500 (just over a million), the auction total skyrocketed to £16,861,630 ($2.75m), which Bonhams described as "a roaring success". Scope out the press release below for more info.
Jaguar designs Tour de France racing bike [w/video]
Sun, 01 Jun 2014Jaguar is known for designing luxury sedans, and it's known for designing GTs. But once in a while it dabbles in a new area of transportation design. It's working on its first crossover at the moment, and even did a speedboat concept a couple of years ago. Now it's turned its attention to bicycles.
While many automakers have designed bikes in the past, Jaguar's project has a bit more of a direct correlation. It's been working with Team Sky - the outfit that has won the Tour de France two years running now - since 2010, furnishing the team with support vehicles for bicycle races around the world. But now it's stepping its collaboration up a notch by redesigning the team's bike.
Working with frame manufacturer Pinarello, Jaguar took the existing Dogma 65.1 racing bike design back to the drawing board. Jaguar's designers and engineers reshaped the frame tubes, seat post, front fork, derailleur and all the components attached to the frame, each part streamlined for aerodynamic efficiency. They ran it through Jaguar's Computational Fluid Dynamics processor 300 times then verified the results in the wind tunnel.
2016 Jaguar XE pounces on the Parisian port
Thu, 02 Oct 2014It's been about five years since Jaguar discontinued the misguided X-Type and exited the compact luxury sedan market, but today marks the British automaker's re-entry into the segment with the public debut of the all-new XE.
Pitted against the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the new Jaguar XE is based on an all-new aluminum architecture that will underpin many new felines to follow, and packs a new family of four-cylinder engines. That is, aside from the range-topping XE S pictured above, with the super-six borrowed from the F-Type.
Conservatively styled but elegant and uniquely Jaguar, the XE isn't set to arrive Stateside until 2016. So unless you're planning a trip overseas (with a stop at a Jaguar showroom on the itinerary), our gallery of live shots from the floor of the Paris Motor Show here at the Porte de Versailles may be the best look you'll be getting at Coventry's latest for the next couple of years.
