This car will absolutely be sold to the highest bidder!

This Beautiful Jaguar XJS runs and drives well, but the engine shuts down after 15 minutes. We don't know much about 12 cylinder Jags so we are selling it the way it is. Its V-12 engine is very responsive (when it runs). It shifts correctly and tracks straight. The brakes are good and it has a nice set of radial tires with five (5) Factory Alloy Wheels. It has a clean carfax.

The odometer reads 85,881 and the title reads 191,320. I sincerely doubt either is correct. We are selling it "true miles unknown".

The interior is in decent condition for its age and mileage, with some normal signs of wear. Some minor cosmetics are needed (headliner sags a bit). (See Pictures)

The body is straight, it's never been in an accident and the paint shines very well. There are a couple paint bubbles etc. that are pictured. Any imperfections are shown in the photos. (See Pictures)

All options were checked and are working fine and the A/C is ICE COLD.

It's a rare Jaguar XJS  needing only a few cosmetics and a look at why it stalls. Well worth the effort.

Bid to own, it will be sold for the highest bid regardless of price!

This vehicle was gifted to the American Children’s Society. They have authorized us to sell it as-is for the highest bid.

We are doing our part to make this an easy transaction. The auction is for 5 days only and there is no reserve. This vehicle will positively be sold for the highest bid. We have done our best to picture and describe everything as we see it. PLEASE, do your part and try to view the vehicle or have it professionally inspected before you bid. This is a final AS-IS sale. Please understand this and bid accordingly.

This is a  NO RESERVE   Auction.

The car WILL ABSOLUTELY BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.

Dick Van Dyke escapes his flaming Jaguar on the 101

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Actor Dick Van Dyke was caught in a dangerous situation on a Los Angeles highway (who are we kidding, every situation on an LA highway is dangerous), when his Jaguar XJ spontaneously caught fire. The 87-year-old actor/comedian pulled to the side and attempted to call emergency services when another motorist pulled him from the car. There seems to be some confusion as to whether Van Dyke was passed out or merely calling emergency services.
According to the photos and video from NBC and The Today Show, the car was thoroughly cooked in the blaze and is now a total loss. After the incident, Van Dyke's wife, Arlene, posted that the actor was "fine," sharing a Vine video of the star, the car, and a few CHP troopers that were on hand. Later in the day, Van Dyke tweeted a photo of his toasted sedan, saying, "Used Jag for sale REAL CHEAP!!"
You can view the Today show segment on the incident as well as Arlene Van Dyke's Vine video, below.

European automakers gear up for Brazilian production

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.

Highlights from the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the McLaren P1 and a Ford Transit running the hill

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The sole purpose of this post is as a time-waster, and since you shouldn't have to work to waste time, we've done it for you. In the numerous videos below you'll find cars that have lately been in the news tramping all over the grounds of Lord March's estate in Goodwood, England.
There's the McLaren P1 heading up the hill, the Jaguar Project 7, then a casually-driven Porsche 917 followed by an even-more-casually-driven Porsche 956, topped off by a Porsche 936 that is anything but casually driven. The next round is the flame-spitting Peugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak from Climb Dance, a camera mounted on the Peugeot RCZ R after it showing you what the whole, uninterrupted run up the hill looks like. For a real head-turner, we couldn't embed it but there's Andy Reid blasting up the hill in a Ford Transit Supervan with a Cosworth 3000 V6 engine.
The modern racing contingent has Allan McNish doing the hill in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro he used to win Le Mans and Lewis Hamilton making lots of tire smoke in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas MGP-W02. For comparison, that's followed by Nick Heidfeld's record-setting run up the hill in 1999 in the McLaren MP4/14 . The classic racing contingent is headlined by 71-year-old Giacomo Agostini on an MV Agusta.
