2003 Jaguar Super V8
79,350 miles
4.0L V8 Supercharged
370 horsepower, 387 lb-ft torque

This car drives wonderfully. The 4.0L supercharged V8 is very smooth during casual driving, but has tremendous power when asked to perform. I have replaced most of the front end steering components so it handles quite nicely. I replaced all the fluids including oil, coolant, transmission, rear differential, power steering, and brake when I bought the car, and replaced the spark plugs with iridium plugs. All of this was prophylactic, and since I wanted the car to run perfectly, I used Jaguar-spec fluids. This service cost nearly $1000, half of which was for the transmission service alone.

This is the last year of the X308 platform (1997-2003), a slightly more lean appearance than the X350 that replaced it. However, this car is a 2003 production, and has the updated timing belt tensioners that plagued the V8 prior to this upgrade. The car is overall in very good condition, and I have tried to disclose all the flaws and portray the car completely honestly. It is being sold AS-IS and without returns. I am selling it because I bought the car after years of wanting a Jaguar, but sold my station wagon to do so. In retrospect I now realize that I should not have done so, and need to return to wagon ownership.

Please feel free to ask any questions. If you are nearby, you are welcome to come take a look at the car yourself.

Jaguar XJ220 hooned remotely by a kid

Sat, 31 Aug 2013

The Tax the Rich crew has a knack for indulging in automotive fantasies and capturing it all on video, such as a tug-of-war battle between two Ferrari F50s, drifting a Ferrari Enzo on gravel roads and even powersliding a Rolls-Royce Phantom on a field of wet grass. This latest video features a Jaguar XJ220 and a kid with an iPad, who somehow is able to control the old supercar with the Apple product.
No, there's no app for that (yet), and we lied - the boy isn't actually controlling the car - but it sure is nice to see the XJ220 in all its turbocharged, six-cylinder glory doing donuts and sliding across a grassy field. It jolts us to see the old Jaguar - capable of 217 miles per hour and once described by Jeremy Clarkson as having no brakes and massive turbo lag - thrown about like a rally car, but then we never imagined anybody would abuse a Rolls-Royce like that either. We'll continue to leave the high-stakes antics to Tax the Rich - we're just glad somebody had the guts to behave so badly in such a valuable machine. What else were they made for?
Be sure to check out the video below, if you have a pulse.

Motor Trend pits Aston V12 Vantage S against Jaguar XKR-S GT in battle of the Brits

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

With the recent increase in higher-performance versions of already high-performance vehicles, like Mercedes-Benz and its AMG Black Series, the public is now gaining even greater access to speed and maneuverability. Two of the most recent sports cars to get their wicks turned up include the Jaguar XKR-S GT and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S.
Both of these cars are the pinnacles of their lines, with the Jag lording over the XKR-S, XKR and XK while the Aston rules over the standard V8 Vantage S and V8 Vantage. Motor Trend has opted to pit the two rivals together for some thorough testing, and it just happened to bring along a few video cameras to capture all the action.
There's nearly 19 minutes of super hot sports car action below, so scroll down and enjoy.

Jaguar names its 3 Series-fighter XE, packs it with Ingenium engines

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

Jaguar is committed to emerging from the fringes of the luxury car market and into the mainstream. Just take a look at where it was a couple of decades ago and where it is now: In the 1980s, it had essentially two product lines, the XJ sedan and XJ-S coupe/convertible), and now it's got the XK coupe and convertible, the XJ sedan, the XF sedan and wagon and the F-Type coupe and roadster. But it's not about to stop there.
Coventry knows that if it's going to take on the German and Japanese heavyweights, it's going to need a compact sports sedan, and it's not about to repeat the mistake that was the X-Type. To that end, it's long been rumored to be developing a rival to the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class - it just hasn't given us much to go on. But that changes right here and now.
At the Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar has confirmed the imminent arrival of its new sports sedan, and along with the teaser image above, has given us some juicy details. For one, it'll be called the XE - fitting nicely alongside its big brothers the XF and XJ in Jaguar's growing sedan lineup. For another, it'll hit markets overseas in 2015 and arrive here in the United States in 2016.
