Now the bad parts:

A/C has lost its charge from lack of use
Sunroof doesn’t open, but the motor works, so the problem might be a broken cable
A loud rattle in the left front going over bumps - don’t know what it is - maybe bushings, tie rod ends, spring mounting?

The car was first delivered in September 1983 to my lifelong friend who passed away last month.  He leased the car from the Jaguar dealer for three years, then purchased it.  His widow wants the car sold and has entrusted me to sell it.  All service records and documentation are included with the car.

The only thing I have done to the car was to replace the sagging headliner, except for the sunroof which doesn’t open (included with the car is a roll of new matching headliner material for the sunroof).

Complete with all original books, manuals, warranty information, wiring diagrams, window sticker, etc.

Buyer to pay $500 US funds via PayPal within 48 hours of end of auction, balance due at delivery (certified check or money order).  Car to be picked up within 10 days of end of auction.  Thank you for bidding, and good luck!

Jaguar SUV mule doing Ring testing in Evoque clothes

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Jaguar has moved its Range Rover Evoque-bodied tests of the production C-X17 Concept from icy streets to the legendary Nürburgring, as work continues on the brand's first SUV.
Really, there's not a great deal of new stuff here. Based on the number plates, this is a different vehicle from the one we saw back in March, which we originally identified as the upcoming replacement for the Land Rover Freelander/LR2. The details, though, appear largely the same. The biggest distinction we can see between the March tests and this are the US-spec headlights, which add amber reflectors at their sides. Based on these shots, it does seem as if the C-X17 should be a fairly poised road vehicle, as the engineers hustle it around the 'Ring.
Of course, as soon our spies can capture images of a production-bodied C-X17, we'll be sure to pass those on to you. Until then, take a look up top for images of the Range Rover-bodied Jaguar as it tests at Germany's Nürburgring. You can also scroll down for our March images for the C-X17 mules testing on public roads.

2016 Jaguar XE is ready to stalk the competition

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The XE wears some of the best styling elements from Jaguar's current litter.
Big sedans and sports cars. Jaguar has been known for those two things since the company's name was birthed in 1945. Stylish saloons like the Mark 2 and performance machines like the E-Type make up the brand's heritage, but the compact sedan market is one where the British marque has lacked great product.

The Jaguar E-Type Lightweight is back on the prowl after a few decades away

Sun, 17 Aug 2014

Sometimes procrastination has its benefits. Jaguar originally planned to build a run of 18 E-Type Lightweights for racing in the '60s. However, it was only ever to complete 12 of them. It has taken all of the intervening decades to finally get back to the project and build the final run of new Lightweights. While Jag announced the plan recently, the first continuation model was unveiled during the Pebble Beach weekend.
Coming from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations unit, these cars are identical to the way they left the factory in the '60s. Jag is even using the same grade of aluminum for the bodies, and the cars are fully compliant for FIA historic racing. Power comes from an aluminum, 3.8-liter inline-six with about 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque routed through a four-speed manual gearbox. Who could guess that in 2014 someone could buy a brand new vehicle from a major manufacturer that comes with Weber carbs? Though, Lucas mechanical fuel injection is an option.
While they look old, these new E-types are also a wonder of modern technology. To get things just right, the company laser scanned an original car to create the new bodies. Check out the gallery from the unveiling to see this old cat on the prowl again.
