Very tasteful, sensibly upgraded, great driving, rust-free Southern Utah (dry, desert climate) 1970 International Harvester Scout 800A with half cab, factory bulkhead and the very rare, special order folding windshield. The folding windshield was discontinued in 1967. The original owner must have wanted that feature very badly to special order it from the factory and have to wait for delivery.

The exterior is very impressive. All sheet metal is rust-free and unmodified. Body underneath aluminum diamond plate on bed rails is excellent. The only flaw is a stress crack at the base of the left front fender and a dent in the drivers door (see pics). Front and rear bumpers are custom-built and VERY sturdy. The front is winch ready including heavy-duty wiring. The rear includes a hitch and ball for light-duty towing. A stock rear bumper is included. It has had one older respray in dark green over the original light green. I am also throwing in an extra tailgate that is very straight and chock-full of vintage SoCal surfer stickers. Glass is in excellent shape other than a small crack near the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side (see pics). Rims are the rare, original factory option chrome steelies with brand-new 7.00x15LT (you read that right - no metric here) mud & snow tires. Fender flares are included if you'd like to up your tire size (33's would look sweet). And I don't know where the roll bar came from. I've only secured it with two bolts so you can remove it if you'd like. Also, I have many undercarriage pictures and close-ups available; anything you see in them is only on the surface (which is natures protectant).

The interior has been tastefully upgraded. Carpeting and insulation (cut and sewn to fit) is on the floorboards and transmission tunnel. Underneath, the floor pans look wonderful with no rust (not even surface rust) of ANY kind (see pics). Bucket seats are aftermarket and there is a custom console/armrest in the center with cup holders, storage, and JVC stereo speakers built in. Dash and gauges look great with the only flaw being minor cutting to fit the AM/FM/Cassette Player (and it still works!). Doors have upholstery (carpet?) glued on but underneath, door panels look great with original paint and zero rust (even on the bottoms). Drivers door closes hard. I will try to adjust it. Factory rear seat is included but not installed. It would come in handy if you chose to remove the half cab and install a full soft top.

The running gear is solid and she runs and drives very nicely. Four wheel drive works smoothly and Warn locking hubs engage easily. Engine is the IH 304CID V8 with dual exhaust (small leak behind left muffler), transmission is a Borg-Warner 3 speed auto, and transfer case is a Dana 20. Rear differential is a Dana 44 with the Powr-Lok option (positraction) and the front is a Dana 30 with drum brakes all around. I have a front Dana 44 with disc brakes out of a Scout II available separately if you are interested. It would be a neat upgrade. Power steering is out of a Scout II and power brakes have been added as well. All fluids have just been changed and shocks just replaced. It has some minor wiring issues (several gauges don't work) but it's a daily driver as it sits.

My name is Chris and I would be happy to answer your questions. Don't hesitate to call me at 435-669-1470. I also have tons of additional pictures. Please send me a non-Ebay email address and I will send them out promptly. This beauty is located in the dry, desert community of St. George, Utah (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thank you very much for your interest.
