2005 Hyundai Tiburon Gt - *no Rust* on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:121651

I am finally selling my beloved 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT as it is time to upgrade. It is clean and a non-smoker. Do not be wary about the rebuilt title as I have put a lot of work into this car. I have retained all the paperwork back when I bought the car as salvage in 2011. I bought the car in South Carolina and it has only been through one winter season (went to car wash every two weeks) so NO RUST. I would like to note that I do drive this still, so the mileage may be slighter higher than listed here.

General Maintenance:
- Car aligned and tires/wheels balanced 6/15/14
- All struts were replaced in 2012
- Transmission fluid changed in 2013
- Timing Belt and other belts replaced in 2014
- Replaced power steering hoses due to leak in 2014
- Synthetic oil with OEM oil filter replaced every 5k miles

Modifications:
- Debadged for Tuscani (korean version of Tiburon) symbols - 2011
- Upgraded spoiler - 2011
- Tinted windows - 27% - 2012
- New front rotor and pads - 2013
- Replaced rear rotor and pads in 2014 due to locking caliper (which is fixed)
- Calipers painted black - 2013
- Upgraded wheels and tires - 2013
- 18" Axis Sport Xfactor with 225/40ZR18
- Purchased winter tires for stock rims (tires used two seasons) - 2013
- Injen short ram - 2012
- DC Sports Cat-back exhaust (nice low growl) - 2013
- ARK GT-F lowering springs - 2012
- Eibach Camber bolts for front tires - 2012
- Beltronics 955 Radar Dectector hardwired in (turns on with car, shuts off when car off) - 2012
- Viper Security Alarm System installed - 2013
- Upgraded stereo system with all new speakers and used subwoofer - 2012
- Replaced dash with 2008 model - 2013
- Upgraded shift knob - 2013

This car is definitely a head turner and is a ton of fun to drive. If I had the space to keep it around I would but unfortunately I do not. If you want a sports car and want one that sounds good too, look no further. I have nothing to hide with this car, so any questions are welcome.

I AM SELLING THIS VEHICLE AS IS WITH NO GUARANTEES, WARRANTIES OR OTHER COVENANTS.

Hyundai, Kia announce buyback plan for angry Korean investors

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

Hyundai's controversial decision last September to move its Korean headquarters to an expansive (and expensive) new facility was met with a swift backlash by shareholders. After making the biggest land purchase in South Korean history, the company's share price took a nine-point nose dive.
Now, in a bid to get back in the good graces of its stockholders, Hyundai and its subsidiary, Kia, will make a $615-million stock buyback plan. Reuters claims this is the first time in ten years that Hyundai has made a buyback offer with the explicit purpose of pumping up share prices.
The total deal bumped up Hyundai's share prices 5.7 percent while Kia is up two percent, although neither company has fully recovered from the battering that followed the headquarters announcement. It's unclear what else it will take for Hyundai to recover the ground it lost during the land deal.

Hyundai sued in Korea over inflated fuel economy claims

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

Hyundai remains in hot water in its home market after the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport alleged that the country's largest automaker, along with Ssangyong, misstated fuel economy numbers on some of its crossovers. Now, though, the country's consumers are going after Hyundai, with a lawsuit from 1,500 Santa Fe owners.
The suit was filed in Seoul Central District Court by a firm called Yeyul. Its spokesperson, Kim Woong, said the suit was a sign that angry consumers could go after the manufacturer if they're wronged by a company's product.
"It is essential that as many affected consumers as possible take part in this lawsuit to show not just the carmaker but the rest of the companies in Korea that you can get a red card if you mess with your customers," Kim told Bloomberg.

Hyundai Sonata successor to seek evolution, not revolution

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

Hyundai hit a home run with its current-generation Sonata midsize sedan, so don't expect the Korean automaker to make revolutionary changes when its replacement comes out for the 2015 model year. The four-door sitting in showrooms today was launched in 2010 with radical new lines that marked a big departure from its rather bland predecessor. Even with stiff competition from the Honda Accord, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry - all newer designs than the Sonata - sales have been strong. Consumers embraced its new design language, taking home a record 230,605 units last year.
"I think we found a design language that works, the 'Fluidic Sculpture' stuff, so I would say (the new styling) is not pulling back in any way. It's more continuing to refine on that same trajectory that we're on," John Krafcik, Hyundai U.S. CEO, told WardsAuto in a recent interview. Consumers don't seem to be fazed by the its age either. "A lot of consumers are just entering (the) midsize (segment) for the first time. They don't see (the Sonata) as a three-year-old car. They see it as, 'Whoa, that's a pretty good-looking midsize car,' so it's doing quite well," added Krafcik.
Sonota sales have been down over the last few months, but Krafcik says that is a reflection of the automaker's decision to increase production of its Elantra compact at the Montgomery, Alabama, plant - where both are built - and a limited supply of its mid-grade GLS Sonata model.
