Staunton, Virginia, United States

Attention: The first reasonable offer takes it home this weekend! Do not miss out on this combination white w/ 6-speed!

I am listing my 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe that I purchased new in March, 2011. Why? First of all, I just bought a new home and need the money. Two, I recently transferred so close to my job I do not need a second vehicle. So, the gen coupe must go. The car has 62,500 Highway Miles! It has been meticulously maintained its whole life with what amounted to an oil change about every six weeks due to 100 mile-per-day commutes to and from work. I am selling for the reasons listed above and welcome reasonable offers.

   Recent Maintenance-Related Items:

***Virginia State Safety Inspection (required annually)

***Oil Change (I will change again prior to delivery)

     ***Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement

     ***Engine Air Filter Replacement

     ***Cabin Air Filter Replacement

***Goodyear Eagle Sport Tires (approx. 5,000 miles)

I have receipts for the work performed. I am a non-smoker and would rate the interior 9.5 out of 10 {nothing is perfect}. I would give the exterior an 8.5 out of 10 due to minor chips and scratches. There is a larger scratch on the lower, front bumper from road debris and very slight curb rash on one wheel. Please see photos. I am trying to represent the car as it is; mechanically sound with only minor aesthetic imperfections. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a showing or test drive.

The terms of the sale are as follows: I, the seller, am not offering any warranty or guarantee of any kind. This is a used car. I am not assisting financially with the purchase of this vehicle. I am requiring a deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours once we have reached an agreement. I will need the remainder paid in full within seven (7) days please. You, the buyer, are responsible for pick up and/or shipping of the vehicle. I am happy to assist in recommending a reliable agent with who I have worked in the past, but the scheduling and payment of such is your duty. The sale is final. Again, if you have any questions please call. I am available at (540) 487-1313. My name is Stacy Zimmerman and I will be more than happy to speak with you. I will be as honest and open as I can because I would like to sell this vehicle. I have thoroughly enjoyed it as I am confident you will too. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day.

South Korea firms up fuel economy regs following Hyundai/Kia debacle

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

According to a report from Reuters, South Korea's government has drafted strict new rules for automakers to follow when calculating fuel economy. The legislation comes after a major snafu by Hyundai and Kia that resulted in the automakers lowering the estimated fuel mileage of many popular models - some by several miles per gallon, including the Soul subcompact above - and compensating owners in the US and Canada for the reduction.
The new fuel economy rules were announced by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in South Korea and will see average mileage ratings drop by roughly three to five percent, according to the report. In addition, manufacturers found guilty of overstating mileage figures will be liable for fines of up to $900,000.
These sweeping new regulations will go into effect in the second half of 2013 and, while they won't have any effect on EPA estimates for Hyundai and Kia vehicles in the United States, they are expected to result in new ratings for the two automakers in their home market of South Korea, where they enjoy a whopping 70-percent market share.

Hyundai exec admits company studying pickup, no foolin'

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Automotive News reports Hyundai may be considering jumping into the US pickup market. Lee In-cheol, ice president of international sales, says the company's product planners and engineers are currently trying to determine what size pickup would be best for our market. Currently, the automaker has no plans to build a truck, but Lee says that hasn't stopped US dealers from asking the company to produce one. The US and South Korea signed a free trade agreement that took effect in 2012 that removes the so-called Chicken Tax from South Korean imports in seven years.
That means that Hyundai or Kia could import a foreign-built truck without incurring the 25 percent tax on the vehicle's value after 2021. Even so, Hyundai isn't committed into jumping into the US full-size pickup market. Instead, the company may build a smaller truck designed to compete in emerging markets.
We've been hearing word about Hyundai's pickup musings for years now, including a rumored partnership with Chrysler to produce Ram-based trucks, but so far, nothing has come of it.

Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
