Own the best in this 1997 Hummer H-1 Wagon.  Every part of this truck is in excellent condition with all of the options you see listed and more.  The vehicle has never been off road and has never been in an accident of any kind.  It has been garaged in Arizona since purchased in 2002 and has been driven very little while the owner has been deployed with the Army.  The engine was replaced under warranty by GM at 16185 miles and has always had all synthetic fluids in it.  New parts include an oil pressure switch, crank position sensor, pump mounted driver (PMD), fuel system driver (FSD) and starter.  Truck is running on Michelin 325/85R16 (41 inch) military tires, which are the same tires the Marine Corps uses on its LAV.  It comes with a second set of 38x15.5x16.5 Super Swamper tires and factory rims.  All records are on hand and will be provided with the vehicle.

Don't miss your chance to own a perfect piece of American history with this exceptional military tough machine.  They do not make the H-1 any longer and these vehicles will only continue to become more rare with time.

AM General to offer civilian Humvee kit car

Thu, 02 Aug 2012

For anyone feeling nostalgic about the passing of the Hummer brand, or the actual wartime vehicle that inspired it, now is your chance to own a version of the original HMMWV, albeit without an engine.
After a 12-year hiatus from the civilian vehicle market, AM General is reportedly set to offer a kit-car of the C-Series Humvee. The kit will conform to U.S. government regulations and has been made possible by a deal with General Motors.
The kit costs $59,000 - and you still need an engine. A likely favorite would be a Duramax Diesel V8 and Allison transmission combination, as was found on the H1 Alpha. AM General estimates that an owner could buy the kit Humvee and outfit a powerplant and transmission for $75,000. Not bad, considering that H1 Alpha has an MSRP of $140,000 in 2005.

Saturn Outlook - Click above for high-res image gallery
Even though both the Saturn and Hummer brands are being phased out, General Motors has reportedly revived production of both the Outlook crossover and H3 SUV to meet consumer demands.
Last month, GM assembled 1,037 Outlooks at its Lansing, Michigan facility, which is where the crossover's Lamda platform stablemates (Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia) are built. A spokesperson for GM states that production was reinstated to utilize the rest of the Saturn-specific material at the facility, and that the automaker will continue to assemble the Outlook for a few more weeks.

Horse-drawn Hummer H2 - Click above to view the video after the jump
When the internal combustion engine finally helped the automobile pass the horse-drawn carriage as the chosen method of transportation for a majority of citizens in the United States, that a step in the right direction. Right? Moving forward about a hundred years... when the behemoth Sport Utility Vehicle that never actually seems to venture off the beaten path passed the minivan in the hearts and minds of families across the country as the people-mover of choice, was that a step in the right direction?
If you answered no to either of the above questions, perhaps you'll enjoy the video pasted after the break. Created by artist Jeremy Dean (read about our initial post on the project here), the converted Hummer H2 is called Futurama and is pulled by two white horses named, appropriately enough, Duke and Diesel. Hummers are for horses? See for yourself.
