2008 Honda Civic Si Mugen. No Reserve! Limited Edition, Mugen Sedan, Jdm on 2040-cars

Year:2008 Mileage:50461 Color: condition
Location:

Casper, Wyoming, United States

Casper, Wyoming, United States

I have owned this vehicle since 2/2012. Was originally purchased at Honda of Casper in Casper, WY, and I am the second owner. I have used it as a daily driver in the summer; it has been driven infrequently in fall and winter, and always garaged.
Condition is as follows, please review all pictures as well.

Mechanical condition: Excellent. No issues, runs great, oil changed every 3k. Has KN drop-in filter, motor is otherwise 100% factory.

Interior condition: Very good. Everything works and functions correctly. Minor staining on front passenger and driver seats, see pictures. Front passenger door insert has a crack in it. Everything else is exceptional.

Includes mud mats for front, rear, and trunk. Also includes OE Honda carpet floor mats, never used.

Exterior condition: Good, see notes.

Notes:

- Comes with 17" Sparco wheels seen in photos, with all season tires and wheel locks. I do not have the OE Mugen wheels.
- Has moonroof and door visors as shown. Also has hood bug deflector.
- I do have the front lip, which I removed the day I purchased it. Has a crack in it.
- Front bumper looks like it was replaced or resprayed at some point. Paint match is good, but not indistinguishable to the discerning eye (see pictures).
- Roof is painted black, and has some minor scaling, looks like hard water spots. You can probably buff this out if you know what you're doing.
- Cosmetic damage to passenger rear quarter/bumper interface. No visible crease in the panel, but the bumper/quarter alignment is off. Paint chips on the edge of the quarter where damaged. An experienced body man could massage this out easily.
- One small door ding on passenger rear door. Smaller than a dime and no paint damage.

- Paint has other minor chips and scratches that fall under expected wear and tear for a six year old vehicle. I have tried to capture these in the pictures, some have been touched up by the previous owner. Clear coat does not have any oxidation or peeling as this car was always garaged. Has not been evaluated for paint warranty issue to my knowledge, but I looked at it and don't see the described defects - this may have been why the roof was re-sprayed.

2015 Honda Civic Type-R benchmarks the cream of the hot hatch crop

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

Honda has something wicked up its sleeve, based on the latest batch of spy photos we've received. This is purportedly the next Honda Civic Type-R, out testing in Germany and on the Nürburgring. The last generation of the Type-R went out of production in Europe in 2010, and while we admired it from afar, it's 2.0-liter, four-cylinder produced similar figures to the American-market Honda Civic Si.
From the looks of both it and the cars Honda engineers are benchmarking, the next Type-R will be much more powerful. In the spy photos, we can see four meaty exhaust pipes along with what is quite clearly an intercooler hiding behind the rear bumper. That's right, the next Type-R will be turbocharged. It'll need to be, though, if it's meant to tackle cars like the Opel Astra OPC, Ford Focus RS500 and Renault Megane RS Trophy (not pictured, but there according to our spies).
300 horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine should be on offer, and would match the competition quite well. Other obvious tweaks from the ho-hum five-door Civic are mainly aerodynamic. It sports an aggressive body kit with a meaty chin spoiler, rocker panels and a big rear wing. Red Brembo brake calipers can also be seen behind the sporty wheels and low-profile tires.

Honda names first woman, foreigner to its board of directors

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

General Motors may have made headlines when it recently appointed the industry's first female CEO, but Honda has long lagged woefully behind the times when it comes to the diversity of its top management. In fact, its entire board has until now been composed entirely of Japanese men, with not a foreigner or a woman in sight. But as Reuters reports, that's all changing with the nominations to its latest board.
The slate of new directors named to Honda's board includes one Hideko Kunii, a gender-equality advocate and engineering professor from the Shibaura Institute of Technology. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kunii spent the bulk of her career at Japanese electronic imaging company Ricoh. Alongside Kunii, Honda has also named Tomoko Mizoguchi to the board as responsible for the company's South American operations, making him the first foreigner to serve on the company's board of directors. (Well, almost: Mizoguchi was born in Brazil, but of Japanese ancestry.)
The appointments follow the recent switch Honda made in its official language policy from Japanese to English, signaling a shift in outlook for a company that has long stuck to traditional Japanese business models. Honda was the first of the major Japanese automakers to begin manufacturing in the United States, and has long relied on hiring local managers to run its regional operations around the world. It has, however, resisted placing foreigners on its board of directors until now, relying instead on senior male managers promoted from within its ranks to serve on its board. This in comparison to Toyota, which has seven foreigners and one woman on its 68-member board of directors, and Nissan, which has fifteen foreigners (including its chief executive) and one woman on its 58-member board.

Honda settles class-action lawsuit over oil-burning V6s

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Although we hadn't heard of this issue before, Automotive News reports that Honda has agreed to settle a massive class-action lawsuit brought against it for engine trouble potentially affecting nearly 1.6 million vehicles. The lawsuit includes Accord (2008-12), Odyssey (2008-13), Pilot (2009-13) and Crosstour (2010-13) models equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 with Variable Cylinder Management, which might experience engine misfire, excessive oil burning and premature spark plug fouling issues.
As part of the settlement, Honda will extend the powertrain warranty on these models for eight years (from time of purchase or lease) with no mileage limitation, and it will also reimburse customers who had to pay out-of-pocket expenses for related repairs such as spark plugs, pistons or, in some cases, apparently, an entirely new engine. (Of course, the repairs had to be related to certain trouble codes.) Lawyers will get no more than $800,000 from Honda and the guy who originally started the case, Vince Eagen, will get $1,000 for his "time and effort."
The final ruling on the matter will take place on March 21, 2014, and if you want to see if you're affected and what options you have in the settlement, check out this .pdf document with all the details.
