*****(((((NO-RESERVE)))))*****     If your looking for the most in-expensive 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid on Ebay, or your looking for me to LOWER the price on a RELIST if it doesn't sell the 1st time out, you've come to the WRONG listing!!!  I have an offer to buy this car for $4,500 that's good for 2-weeks at CarMax in Jacksonville, then they will ask $8,500 for it!!!  COMPARE to ACTIVE listing #140953642326 for a 2003 HCH with 88,000 miles for $10,990, or SOLD (4/11/13) listing #300886324635 2004 HCH with 99,150 miles for $7,500.  At $5,500, with LOTS of NEW Honda parts, my car is a GREAT value...                               2003 Honda Civic Hybrid 4-door family sedan, cheap, reliable, and fuel-efficient (40-50MPG) vehicle good for another 100,000 miles with very-little maintainance.  $40.00 currently fills up the tank and I get 450 miles on a tank of gas before the reserve light comes on.  1-owner, garage-kept, non-smoker, never wrecked, 100% original paint in great condition, body in great condition, 100% mechanically sound, interior in great condition (NO rips, holes, or stains), and EVERYTHING works properly.  Please note:The MAJOR components of this car have already been replaced...  1-The CVT auto-transmission was recently replaced by Honda of Jacksonville at the cost of $3,350.23 plus $564.70 labor with an up-graded unit which just came out of the factory warranty.  2-The Hybrid Integrated Motor Assist or IMA Hybrid battery-pack was replaced by Duval Honda at 95,913 miles on 5/31/12 at the cost of $2668.04 and is still under the Honda factory warranty.  3-The catalytic converter and both oxygen sensors where replaced at 97,582 miles on 7/11/12 at the cost of $1,411.30.  I have all those receipts for VERIFICATION purposes and will gladly email them to any interested parties that may request them from me...  4-The A/C compressor, drier, and orifice tube was also replaced with a new Honda replacement unit last year for approx. $800, but I am unable to locate that receipt at this time.  The car is 10-yrs old and is approaching 100,000 miles, so it is being sold AS-IS.  The car has had tinted windows installed since day 1, so the interior looks like NEW!!!  The dashboard has been covered since day 1, so it is still like NEW (NO fading, warping, or cracks).  The top of the rear seat back has been covered with a towel since day 1, so it's also like NEW (NO fading or deterioration of the fabric from sun or heat damage).  The center armrest has been covered since day 1 (so it has NO wear).  The 100% original paint is in great condition.  The factory alloy wheels are in great condition, NOT bent, oxidized, or full of NASTY curb-rash.  Although the car is in great condition, as well as great mechanical condition (A/C is ICE cold), it does have the following FLAWS from being 10-yrs old and approaching the 100,000 mile mark.  And they are included in the pictures of the car in the listing.  1-The front bumper cover has some Love bug stains, rock chips, and scratches.  2-The hood has some Love bug stains, as well as some rock chips.  3-The paint is peeling on the plastic drivers side-view mirror, NOT the car itself.  4-The right-rear door has a minor door ding.  5-The left-rear door has 2 very-minor door dings.  6-The OEM rear Dunlop tires will need replacement in the near future, but the front OEM Dunlop tires have less-than 500 miles on them.  7-The front left-wheel will also need the tie-rod end replaced soon.  These are the ONLY flaws on the entire car, theres nothing HIDDEN here!!!                                                                                          Terms are as follows.  A $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE Pay-Pal deposit is required within 24-hrs of the auctions end, with the balance payable in full within 72-hrs of the auctions end.  Balance to be paid in person in CASH, or to be bank wire-transferred to my personal account within 72-hrs of the auctions end.  You will have up to 2-weeks to pick up the car or have it transported to you at your COST, but it will be PAID for way in advance.  I will ASSIST you with transport pick up, but all arrangements will be your responsibility.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!  You will receive the car, a FREE & CLEAR title in my name, both sets of original keys with remotes, ALL the owners & service manuals, the MAJOR repair bills as mentioned, 4 brand NEW Honda mud guards in the box, and a brand NEW Honda front bra (all purchased new with the car, but NEVER used).  Ask any and all questions NOW, NOT after you win the auction.  If you would like to inspect, drive, or have a third-party inspection done, do it before winning the auction, NOT afterwards!!!                                                  You are dealing with a very honest seller here on Ebay with OUTSTANDING 100% feedback for 681 transactions with a grand total of $166,923.24 that has sold numerous personal, family, and collector cars with EXCELLENT feedback from each & every sale.  PLEASE, feel free to carefully look over my prior feedback and read what people have said about the vehicles purchased from me in the past.  Thanks and good luck...

Honda Accord Hybrid falls well short of 47 mpg, says Consumer Reports [w/video]

Thu, 29 May 2014

Do not poke Consumer Reports with the hybrid fuel economy stick. That seems to be the lesson illustrated here yet again. The Honda Accord Hybrid is the latest to arouse the ratings bear, returning "just" 40 combined mpg in CR testing. Even so, that makes it "a class leader for fuel economy among midsized sedans," besting even the Civic Hybrid in CR testing, but that's still a lucky roll of the dice short of its EPA rating of 47 mpg. Remember, it was back in December 2012 that CR knocked the Ford Fusion and C-Max hybrid models for the exact same failing: certified with an EPA-rated 47 mpg but delivering "just" 40 mpg.
Beyond that, while the Accord Hybrid earned a lower overall score than the traditional gasoline Accord because of its ride, handling and refinement issues, it gets unqualified applause from the institute for its "very impressive hybrid system."
It will be interesting to see if CR's findings will negatively impact the model's sales, which to this point have been impressive enough that demand is outstripping supply. In the meantime, you can check out CR's brief video review of the Accord Hybrid below, and check out the magazine's press release chiding its mpg rating.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Bisimoto 2014 Honda Odyssey packs 1,029 hp plus the kids

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

You know, the last time I drove a Honda Odyssey, I thought, "Man, this thing could really use another 781 horsepower." Thank goodness for the folks at Bisimoto, then, who have brought this "Power-Van" to the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It's your standard seven-passenger Honda Odyssey with massive powertrain tuning to deliver a full 1,029 horsepower. Honda has not listed the torque output, but we imagine it's roughly eleventy billion foot-pounds.
That crazy power bump has been achieved through the use of - *deep breath* - an Infinity ECU, Arias pistons, ARP headstuds and bolts, Bisimoto's own 360-degree oil cap, a cat-back exhaust system, stainless mufflers, an improved fuel pump, new spark plugs, custom headwork, R&R custom steel rods, Turbonetics BTZ7265 twin turbochargers, a wastegate, blowoff valve, VP racing fuels and a whole lot more. Honda says the only chassis/suspension modifications come in the way of Fifteen52 wheels, 225/30-series Toyo T1 Sport tires and Young Guns performance exhaust coatings. So as far as we can tell, this thing still uses a front-wheel-drive setup. I bet it'll do somersaults.
Of course, this is SEMA, where we assume there's a four-modification minimum for any car that enters the Las Vegas Convention Center, so the Odyssey has been given added visual flair, as well. Outside, that means there's a Denmatic design theme, a whole mess of Honda accessories (check out that roof tub) and some new paint. Inside, upgraded upholstery has been fitted, as have Recaro seats.
