Offered for sale is a 1989 Honda CRX Si. The car has largely remained unmodified. We bought the car out of Colorado to try to find a slightly cleaner chassis then what is typically found in Ohio. The plan was to have a great runner to run to and from auctions with that would be a lot of fun. After the winter we've had, we have gone a different direction.
Looking at the pictures you can see, the car looks like its never been in an accident. The front sheet metal is all original and corrosion free. The only corrosion on the car is the typical rear quarter panels and the drivers door check mount has rusted. The engine has been replaced at some point with a SOHC ZC engine. The car does run great, clutch feels good, gets 45 mpg. All in all, it is a solid car. Great driver or project car. The driver seat bolster is worn and the climate controls are cracked like most CRXs of this vintage. The seat adjuster has a couple of teeth missing, and so some drivers might find the position uncomfortable. The car does need to be repainted. The previous owners did some less than desirable body & paint work. The A/C belt is off. The A/C Compressor does turn but the idler pulley is seized up. Fire up your 3D printer! Honda releases data for several of its past concepts [w/video]
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Futurists have been treating 3D printing like it is the second coming of the Industrial Revolution for years. Everyone will have a 3D printer in their garage and be able make practically anything at home before you know it, right? Well... not quite.
While we can imagine a piece of trim breaking on our car and being able to download the file to print a new one at home, the reality is that 3D printing is still in its earliest stages as a consumer device. Still, Honda is capitalizing on the technology by allowing people to make models of its concept cars at home.
The Honda 3D Design Archive currently consists of five models based on the Fuya-Jo, FSR, Kiwami, Puyo, and NSX concepts. The printer files can be downloaded from the web and carry Creative Commons 4.0 licenses, which allow them to be freely shared. Honda promises that more files will be added to the archive soon.
Honda thumbs nose at fleet sales, claims it leads in key vehicle segments
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Fleet sales are a way of life in the automotive industry. There are many non-retail customers that need vehicles, but going too far can reduce brand image and vehicle resale value. While some of its competitors have fleet sale that account for up to 20 or 30 of overall sales, Honda is bragging that it has the lowest fleet sales of all mainstream automakers for the first five months of 2013.
After calculating new-car registration data from R.L. Polk, Honda says that just two percent of its sales through went to fleet customers compared to an industry average of 19 percent. Even though this means Honda leaves plenty of sales on the table each month, it also claims to have the highest resale value and lowest cost of ownership among its competitors. In terms of retail sales, Honda says that the Civic, Accord, CR-V and Odyssey all lead their respective segments, and it breaks down/brags about its retail sales success in the press release, which is posted below.

Back in March, safety engineers at Honda were disappointed when the much-anticipated 2015 Fit received a substandard grade on an important crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
