Up for sale is a 2005 GMC Yukon XL 2500 4X4 with the rare 8.1 Liter big block.  And with only 83K miles this is a great find.  Truck is fully loaded with Leather, Sunroof, DVD Entertainment, Heated Seats, Memory Seats, Bose Audio and Autoride.  Truck has the 6 Disc CD Player as well as XM Satellite Radio.  Dual Zone automatic Air Conditioning in the front as well as Rear Air that blows ice cold, heat works perfect too.  Yukon has a leveling kit on the front to make it sit level and almost brand new BFG Mud Terrain KM2 tires.  I had the idle and pitman arms changed when leveling kit was installed, steering is tight and true.  Truck has no mechanical problems there are no "warning lights" on.  This Yukon XL is also in well above average condition.  I would give the truck a 8 out of 10 overall. The paint shines and there are very few scratches, there is one small dent in rear driver side that is barely noticeable.  The interior is in very good condition, there are no rips or tears in the leather and I am a non smoker.  The carpet is in good condition, there is some light staining on the second row carpet, I am mentioning this only for full disclosure it is not bad at all.  Yukon has third row seat.  I am only selling because my I have started traveling more and need something will a little better fuel mileage.  At end of auction buyer must complete sale within 3 days.  I will assist with shipping any way that I can but cost is buyers responsibility.  I will reasonably work with you any way that I can on payment or shipping. Truck is for sale locally as well. This is my daily driver so miles will go up a little.  Please email if you would like more photos.

GM reportedly recalling select 2014 Silverado, Sierra pickups over airbag issue

Sun, 21 Jul 2013

General Motors is recalling 843 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Crew Cab pickups, due to a fault with the vehicle's airbags. According to GM, the airbags may not inflate properly in the event of a crash. There haven't been any crashes or injuries associated with this recall, which is always good. Naturally, repairs will be free of charge, and GM will begin contacting affected owners soon.
GM has a lot hanging on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Not only is it banking over $12,000 per vehicle on these trucks, as reported by Automotive News, but GM is counting on the Sierra and Silverado to take the fight to cross-town rivals Ford and Ram. The F-150 and Ram 1500 have been on a tear over the past few years, with fresh updates, advanced powertrains, and plenty of solid press while the GM trucks have been waiting for the 2014-model-year upgrades.
It's still entirely too early to judge the Sierra and Silverado, particularly as those 843 recalled trucks make up barely two percent of the over 40,000 units moved so far. But, as AN rightly states, these trucks are the most important vehicles to come out of GM since bankruptcy, with about 60 percent of global profits relating to pickups and SUVs. Starting an introduction of such a big product with a recall, however small, is not the preferred way to do things.

GM recalling 54k Cadillac SRX, HD pickup models

Thu, 01 May 2014

There are more recalls to report General Motors, but these latest actions pertain to newer examples of the Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD. With so much scrutiny on the company's recall strategy, GM is under increasing pressure to call in defective models more quickly, and it appears to be doing so here.
Here in the US, the automaker is recalling 50,571 Cadillac SRX crossovers from the 2013 model year fitted with the 3.6-liter V6 because the transmission control module programming can cause a three- or four-second lag in acceleration at low speeds. The explanation filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, "if the following sequence occurs within two seconds: during an upshift from first to second gear (8-10 mph), the driver then brakes the vehicle to less than 5 mph, and then accelerates again," the delay can occur. According to Automotive News, the recall effects 56,400 vehicles worldwide, and the company is not aware of any crashes caused by the problem. The fix consists of a transmission control module (TCM) reflash.
In a separate recall, GM is repairing 51 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups from the 2015 model year in the US. In vehicles with diesel engines and dual fuel tanks, the nuts that connect the fuel pipe to each side of the transfer pump between the tanks may be improperly torqued, which could cause a fuel leak. Obviously, this could be a fire hazard. The remedy is simply tightening the hardware. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, there have been no fires actually caused by the potential leak. "Only 21 of the trucks are in customer possession and they can be fixed anytime because there are no parts involved. The others are being fixed at dealerships," Adler said in an email to Autoblog.

GM thinks Colorado and Canyon midsize trucks will lure crossover buyers

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

The invitation to come out and sample product at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, MI is rarely dull, and after spending this morning driving preproduction versions of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon all we can say is... under strict embargo. Sorry, America, we were as excited as many of you are to learn more about GM's new midsize truck range and take note of how they go down the road, but it's going to be September before we're allowed to share that with all of you. Here's to sweet suspense.
While we might not be able to talk about refinement or handling yet, we did find some of the product positioning and marketing statements from GMC and Chevy officials on hand at the program to be pretty interesting.
Of course, we all know that the literal competitive set for Canyon and Colorado is comprised of two comparatively ancient Japanese midsize trucks: the Toyota Tacoma (which currently owns this segment) and the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier's bones are as old as the 2005 model year, with 2009 marking the last time the truck was updated. The Taco was also launched in 2005, though it did see a freshening for 2012. The point remains that, in every facet from powertrain to dash plastics, the GM midsize truck twins are going to look positively space age by comparison when they hit the market for MY 2015.
