Don't let the odometer scare you, most people are shocked to hear this truck has 175k miles. Inside and out is extremely clean. This truck was bought new by my Dad and was used as a commuter between PA and NJ, he gave it to me with 100k and I used it to commute to work (50 miles daily) and many road trips down to our VA Beach house. Clean Carfax, no accidents, no rust, never smoked in, always maintained. Options include the 6.0L V8 (325 HP & 365 torque) w/4speed auto trans. It has AWD, anti-lock brakes and StabiliTrack with air ride suspension. This truck is quick and can haul up to 7k lbs. no problem. I added a trailer brake controller so you can tow with confidence. It has a Weathertech liner to protect the cargo area and new GM floor mats in front and back. It has power everything, front and rear heated seats, moonroof, SAT radio capable Bose system sounds awesome, leather seats are perfect, no rips/tears or cracks, universal garage door opener and power adjustable pedals. The only options this truck did not come with is factory NAV and DVD. The factory 16" wheels were replaced with 20" GM chrome 5 spoke wheels (they only 3 years old). They have the Chevy bowtie center caps but you can get a blank set or GMC set for ~$40. I'm an honest seller, not a con artist used car salesman trying to fool you - so here is what is wrong/what needs repair (some of these may be optional to the buyer tho): Speedo stopped working recently not sure why yet (so I used the NAV GPS to watch my speed) Oil pressure gauge has not worked for some time Air compressor for air ride suspension needs to be replaced (~$200 to repair) Tires and front brakes have about 10-15k miles of life left Tire pressure sensors are from a 2010 Tahoe and they are not compatible with GMC so the TPS light is on Rear window wiper not working Needs inspection next month but I will guarantee it passes NJ inspection Truck runs great and has no rust anywhere - even underneath. This would be a great first vehicle for a kid or for a family that is looking to get a big safe SUV (has front and side air bags) for a great price. There are many people running these trucks up to 300k miles and more. I replaced it with a newer Tahoe but the Denali has more comfortable seats and more power/better acceleration so I'm really going to miss this truck. Check KBB and NADA and comparable Denali's on Ebay or Craigslist. KBB trade-in value is $6,800. You won't find one like this for a better price. If you do, show me and I'll match the price.

GM thinks Colorado and Canyon midsize trucks will lure crossover buyers

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

The invitation to come out and sample product at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, MI is rarely dull, and after spending this morning driving preproduction versions of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon all we can say is... under strict embargo. Sorry, America, we were as excited as many of you are to learn more about GM's new midsize truck range and take note of how they go down the road, but it's going to be September before we're allowed to share that with all of you. Here's to sweet suspense.
While we might not be able to talk about refinement or handling yet, we did find some of the product positioning and marketing statements from GMC and Chevy officials on hand at the program to be pretty interesting.
Of course, we all know that the literal competitive set for Canyon and Colorado is comprised of two comparatively ancient Japanese midsize trucks: the Toyota Tacoma (which currently owns this segment) and the Nissan Frontier. The Frontier's bones are as old as the 2005 model year, with 2009 marking the last time the truck was updated. The Taco was also launched in 2005, though it did see a freshening for 2012. The point remains that, in every facet from powertrain to dash plastics, the GM midsize truck twins are going to look positively space age by comparison when they hit the market for MY 2015.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
