1989 Gmc Suburban 2500 on 2040-cars
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
This is a very solid Western truck that has spent nearly all its life in California -- check the Carfax. Mechanically very well maintained, runs very strong, needs nothing. No body rust. Some surface rust on roof due to sun damage. I use this truck less than 30 days per year and it has seen maybe five days of snow. It does have headers, so it is louder than others but not excessively loud. Drives great, no issues. Vehicle is garaged in Bloomington. Great hunting truck, vacation truck or reliable winter warrior. I bought this truck from www.rustfreeclassics in January 2012. Their ad and pics are still up: http://www.rustfreeclassics.com/GMC/89GMC_Suburban_V20_Lifted_Tan_Gold.htm. Check out their excellent pics. I had only two disappointments after buying this truck: I am not a fan of headers, and the surface rust on the roof does not show in any of these pics. Otherwise the truck met or surpassed all my expectations. It is fun to drive, turns heads and I will miss it. I just have too many trucks.
On Oct-28-13 at 17:23:36 PDT, seller added the following information: VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT ERROR! This vehicle was NOT involved in an accident in York Co., PA in February 2013. That accident involved a different vehicle I owned at the time. I can provide documentation of this on request. |

2014 GMC Sierra
Wed, 12 Jun 2013Is the Best GMC Truck Ever Made Good Enough?
We've got a bright aluminum Airstream camper hitched to our rear bumper as we head up Southern California's coast because GMC says that 60 percent of all full-size pickup owners will use their trucks for towing.
Rather than forcing us to absorb its capabilities in a long-winded PowerPoint presentation, the automaker brought us to Los Angeles and handed us the keys to its all-new 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. After jumping behind the wheel of a 5.3-liter V8 model, we drove up the foggy Malibu coast (locals call the soggy early-summer weather "June Gloom") and made our way to the Camarillo Airport for a towing refresher. Once completed, a brand-new 23-foot Airstream was hitched to our aft end and we were pointed towards a campground just west of Santa Barbara.
GMC vehicles earn spot on Madden NFL 25's roster
Wed, 17 Jul 2013In the real world, the Super Bowl MVP gets a Chevrolet Corvette. Last year's MVP, Joe Flacco, took delivery of a C7 Corvette Stingray after leading the Baltimore Ravens to victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
In the video game world of the Madden NFL series, the Super Bowl MVP gets a 2014 GMC Sierra Denali. Why no Stingray in the video game? Because GMC inked a deal with EA Sports for the truck and SUV builder to be named the official vehicle of the football video game's twenty-fifth anniversary edition.
The new Sierra Denali will be joined by the Yukon, Acadia, and Terrain in game, with stadium promotions for the brand throughout the season. Yes, even when you're beating the hell out of your buddy who insists on playing with the hateful Cowboys, you'll be seeing commercials. (Hold your keystrokes, Cowboy fans. We're just kidding. Sort of.)
GM considering new powertrain options for large SUVs
Tue, 15 Oct 2013Aside from the new General Motors offerings, there's not a whole lot of action going on in the fullsize SUV segment. That doesn't seem to be stopping GM from pushing the envelope in the market as Automotive News is reporting that the automaker is looking to introduce some new powertrain options into the Chevy Tahoe (and Suburban), GMC Yukon (and Yukon XL) and the Cadillac Escalade - all have been redesigned for the 2015 model year.
Now, we already know that GM and Ford are collaborating on nine- and ten-speed transmissions for a broad range of applications (including the big SUVs), but this new report says that GM is also considering other options as a way to one-up the competition and, of course, to optimize fuel economy. AN quotes Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for GM trucks, as saying that "interesting powertrain technologies" are coming including a return of a hybrid SUV and possibly even a diesel engine. Although it sounds like the latter could come down to how customers respond to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.
