*Please ONLY bid if you intend to and have the means to complete the transaction.  If you have ZERO or NEGATIVE feedback, you MUST contact me prior to bidding or your bids will be cancelled.  Please be aware this is a 907A salvage vehicle and being sold as such.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Up for auction is a rare 2006 GMC Sierra K1500 Hybrid Gas-Electric 4x4 Extended Cab Pickup truck.  This vehicle is being sold with 907A salvage paperwork.  It was purchased as part of a flood damaged fleet and vehicle and does not start.  It does not appear that any water entered the cab and even the underside does not appear to have any damage beyond that from normal use.  The dashboard lights up as you can see and all the interior accessories appear to function.  When you turn the key, no crank or start.  The hybrid batteries do not appear damaged and had proper charge when checked.  I do not have the expertise to diagnose and repair this vehicle so my loss is your gain.  I think that with minimal repair, this would be a very nice truck.  Body is in very good condition.  These trucks are rare and big money.  Reserve is very low so bid now and save BIG $$$$.  Please read below for more details regarding condition as well as 907A salvage vehicles.

907A Salvage: This vehicle is being sold with New York 907A Salvage certificate/paperwork.  Please be sure to check the requirements in your state for processing 907A paperwork.  Pennsylvania and New Jersey Residents: your state does not accept this paperwork and salvage inspection application must be done in NY first.  Most states require a salvage examination prior to registering vehicle.  Vehicle must be towed or trailered.

Please feel free to contact me with any and all questions PRIOR to bidding.  If you are local you are welcome to come and inspect vehicle in person or have and independent inspection conducted.  I am happy to answer any questions you may have.  631-871-3459 (Seth).

Condition

Drivetrain

Vehicle does not crank or start.  Dashboard light up when powered and key turned.  Fluids appear to all be clean and there is no evidence of water entering the engine.

Exterior

Paint has most of its factory finish and with a cleaning, would glisten.  The front bumper has some oxidation.  Other than maybe a minor blemish here and there, the body is very straight as you can see and in nice condition.

Interior

Interior is in good to average condition and is dirty from use.  No evidence of water inside and no smells.  Lights, radio, blower, etc., all work.

Wheels and Tires

·  Tires have approximately 60%+ tread remaining.  Full set of factory allow GMC rims.  The driver rear tire has a leak and goes flat.

I have not started or driven this vehicle.  I have only superficially inspected it's condition due to the salvage nature.  Any information regarding repairs is best guess and merely a guideline.  It is recommended that a qualified mechanic check over any salvage flood vehicle before use.  Most states do not allow a 907A salvage vehicle to be operated on a public highway prior to inspection.   IT IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK QUESTIONS AND/OR INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE BIDDING AND PURCHASE.  FAILURE OF THE BUYER TO DO SO DOES NOT CONSTITUTE NON-DISCLOSURE OF DEFECTS ON THE SELLERS PART.  I am happy to answer any questions so feel free to e-mail me or call.

·  Payment Details

A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be made via PayPal within 24 hrs of auction's close.  Balance to be paid within 3 days via certified/cashier's check from a verifiable institution with local branches only, US postal money order preferred(no other's will be accepted due to counterfeit MO's going around), or cash (in person only, DO NOT mail cash).  A document fee of $150.00 will be added to the winning bid price.  If you require documents to be mailed please add $20 to final price for overnight service.   Item must be picked up within 10 days of auction's close.  If not, buyer agrees to pay $20/day storage.  Sorry but I can not have vehicles sitting here for weeks or months.  IF DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 24 HRS OR PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 3 DAYS, VEHICLE WILL BE RELISTED OR SOLD TO NEXT BIDDER.  Cyber_lot.

NY Residents Only: If you are registering this vehicle in NY State, sales tax will be collected

Shipping

Shipping is at the expense and responsibility of the winning bidder.  If you require shipping, I am happy to assist.  You may use the links below to obtain quotes.  Vehicle is located in Long Island, NY, 11713.  Cyber_lot.

Legal Info

Please only bid if you have the funds available and intend to complete the transaction.  Ebay is a great place and you guys are wonderful but the occasional fraudulent bidder ruins it for everyone.  Non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay as well as the appropriate authorities as interfering in interstate commerce is a federal offense.  If you have negative feedback please contact me if you wish to bid or your bid(s) will be canceled.  By bidding, you agree to all the terms of this auction.  Item is sold as-is where-is with no warranty or guarantee.  If you are local, feel free to come and inspect the vehicle in person.  Cyber_lot.  I have tried to describe this item as best I can but I am not responsible for any incorrect information regarding specs, condition, undetected problems, etc. I am happy to answer any and every question so please e-mail prior to bidding as all sales are final.  I reserve the right to end auction early as vehicle is for sale locally.

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
