THIS VAN IS VERY NICE IT HAS 149,000 MILES BUT IT IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED. I BOUGHT IT WITH 92,000 MILES ON IT. WE USED IT TO HAUL OUR 4 KIDS AROUND AND OUR FRIENDS. EVERYTHING WORKS WELL EXCEPT THE PASSENGER WINDOW WILL GO DOWN BUT COMES UP SLOW AND SOMETIMES WILL BE A BIT BEFORE IT COMES UP. OTHERWISE IT ALL WORKS GREAT. THE HEAT BLOWS NICE AND HOT IN THE WINTER. THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ICE COLD IN THE SUMMER. IT ALSO HAS REAR AIR CONDITIONING WHICH IS AS COLD AS IT GETS. IT SEATS 8 PASSENGERS COMFORTABLY. IT HAS TIE DOWN RAILS ON TOP FOR LUGGAGE BUT HAS PLENTY OF ROOM BEHIND THE REAR SEAT. THE 2 BENCH SEAT FOLD DOWN FLAT FOR EASY LOADING OF LONG FLAT ITEMS OR ONE OR BOTH OF THEM CAN BE REMOVED IN LESS THAN A MINUTE TO USE AS A CARGO HAULER.
I PAID $3,900 FOR IT. I REPLACED ALL 4 SHOCKS, I HAD MY LOCAL SHOP REPLACE THE FRONT ROTORS, BRAKES, CALIPERS, BEARINGS AND SENSORS. THIS WAS AT 142,000 MILES. THEY ALSO PUT IN A NEW ALTERNATOR, AIR FILTER FUEL FILTER AND COOLANT. IT HAS REAR STUDDED SNOW TIRES. IT HAS AFTERMARKET BRIGHT FOG LIGHTS THAT HAVE 3 SETTINGS ON A PAD NEAR THE STOCK SPOT ON THE DASH. IT HAS A FULL UNDER MOUNT TOW HITCH, A BIG TRAILER WIRING PLUG WITH CENTER PIN AND A TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER. I ONLY TOWED A SMALL TRAILER TO YARD SALES WITH IT THIS LAST SUMMER FOR MY WIFE A FEW TIMES AND IT DID IT WELL. IT HAS THE TOW HAUL BUTTON ON THE GEAR SELECTOR.
I JUST HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND PUT IN A NEW BATTERY A WEEK OR SO AGO. I WOULD TAKE MY FAMILY ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY WITH THIS VAN. IT HAS THE 4.3 LITER V6 VORTEC THAT HAS PLENTY OF POWER BUT STILL GETS A VERY GOOD 21 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY AND ABOUT 17 OR 18 IN TOWN.
I WAS PLANNING ON KEEPING THIS OR I WOULD NOT HAVE INVESTED $7,000 IN A VAN THAT THE BLUE BOOK IS HALF OF THAT. I JUST LIKE THESE LARGER MINIVANS A LOT. WELL WE FOUND A CHEVY EXPRESS CONVERSION VAN I ALWAYS WANTED LAST MONTH. NOW WE HAVE 3 VANS. THIS ONE NEEDS A NEW HOME.

GM appears to repurpose Saturn Outlook parts on new Acadia
Thu, 09 Feb 2012General Motors unveiled the company's refreshed GMC Acadia at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show yesterday, and if you were paying attention, you may have noticed something curious about the vehicle. While the new Acadia looks considerably better than its predecessor, a few components of the design looked more than a little familiar. Upon closer observation, it appears that GM has simply repurposed elements of the now defunct Saturn Outlook crossover on the 2013 Acadia. Both vehicles seem to share the same wrap-around rear glass, back hatch, tail light openings and exaggerated, squared-off fender arches.
While the vehicles are differentiated by badging, tail lamps and a rear valance, there's no denying the similarities toward the vehicle's rear. Up front, both share similar fenders, though adjustments have been made for the varying headlight designs.
That's good news if you just can't imagine life without the Saturn Outlook.
Chevy Express 1500, GMC Savana 1500 get the axe
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Fans of truck-based, light-duty vans can officially pour one out for the Chevrolet Express 1500 and GMC Savana 1500, as General Motors has officially put its long-serving big/little rigs out to pasture. Things aren't quite as sad as they sound, though. The heavier-duty 2500 and 3500 vans will soldier on, in order to duke it out with the largest members of Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter families.
The move does seem to make a lot of sense. According to GM, customers only purchase the 1500-spec Chevrolet 23 percent of the time, while the GMC captures a mere 7 percent of the Savana family's sales. With numbers like that, it's no shock that GM thinks it can shift some of its buyers into its van family's more capable variants. "We knew we could move a lot of our 1500 customers into 2500-series territory," said GM's Joe Langhauser, the product manager for the company's full-size vans.
It's not just simple sales figures dictating the move, though. The 1500 line is taking up some valuable factory space that will be better spent on an eagerly anticipated new product.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
