2000 Ford Windstar Se Runs And Drives No Reserve! on 2040-cars

Year:2000 Mileage:115800
Location:

Bellmore, New York, United States

Bellmore, New York, United States

This van runs, drives and stops, but has issues. I drive it everyday and it has not left me stranded

2 owner van, my neighbors were the original owners. The tires have plenty of tread and looks good cosmetically. It is not perfect but it's a solid driver. It has some scratches and dings but its not dented and the paint is in very nice shape. The rocker panel was patched with fiberglass filler and repainted. Not the prettiest repair but it stopped the rust from spreading. The undercarriage of the van is pretty clean and not a totally rotted mess. The rear axle was replaced with a brand new one due to rust. The interior looks good too, no rips or tears, just normal wear. Not perfect, but pretty decent. A solid 7.5/10 interior rand exterior. I just fixed the blend door actuator so the heat blows nice and hot. The van has remote start, back-up beepers, power sliding door, CD player, and side air bags. A/C unknown

There are no check engines lights and no trouble codes however the abs and traction lights are on and the speedometer doesn't work. The odometer stopped working about two weeks ago. It reads 115,634 and I've put another almost 200 miles on since then so actual mileage is about 115,800. The motor has some sort of valve tick or knock from a cylinder head. 2 cylinder heads have already been replaced. It goes away when it warms up, but it's important to know. I drive it every day and it has not left me stranded, but bear in mind you can hear the motor until it warms up and when you accelerate. On a warm day it's not as bad as cold days. Please remember that this vehicle is 14 years old. The van is sold AS-IS. I strongly encourage any perspective buyer to inspect the vehicle prior to bidding. Bidders with less than 5 feedback will have their bids canceled if I'm not contacted first. Local pick-up only. Will not ship under any circumstances. $250.00 deposit due through paypal within 48 hours, the remainder is due in cash upon pick up.

Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.

Ford recalls 434k vehicles for several unrelated issues

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

It seems that the hard winter in much of the country has been as rough on some Fords as it has on many people. The Blue Oval is recalling roughly 434,000 vehicles in two separate recalls, and one of them partially caused by the salt used to melt the snow on roads.
The first recall covers 385,750 2001-2004 Escape models in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada because a subframe could rust and eventually fail. This is partially due to the road salt used in those areas, and about 349,000 of the affected vehicles are in the US. To remedy the problem, dealers are installing a reinforcement cross brace on the frame to strengthen them. There has been one crash caused by the failure but no injuries. According to The Detroit News, this is not the first rust-related recall for Ford. It estimates the company has repaired over two million vehicles since 2010 for problems on vehicles related to the iron oxide, including the rear wheel wells of the Freestar minivan.
The second recall covers 48,950 2013-2014 Ford Fusion, Escape, C-MAX and Lincoln MKZ models because welds in their seatbacks don't meet National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards. The fault affects the front seats, and the sub-standard welds joining the setback to the recliner could increase the chance on injury. There have been no reported injuries or accidents caused by the problem, but there are 42,972 affected vehicles in the US and 4,744 in Canada.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
