This car is being sold as a part of an estate sale.  The owner had driven this van for the last year on trips to Ohio, Deleware and back and forth between Wyalusing PA  and Hackettstown, PA as well to the local market, etc.  The car seems mechanically sound.  It has a few minor issues, for example, the passenger windows does not go down.  The sliding doors need grease.  The horn has been relocated to the dash board.  Most of these items can be addressed by someone handy with a tool box.  I'll make myself available if you would like to test drive.  KBB and Edmunds have this van between 2500 and 3500.  Even eBay competed listing into that same range.  The sale is AS-IS.  No warranty is implied.  Please have your mechanic check out the car before biding.  $150 is required 48 hours after winning the bid.  Balance is due in $10 days.  You must take delivery of the van in 30 days.

Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests

Thu, 23 Jan 2014 18:32:00 EST

Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.

Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014 17:13:00 EST

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
