1999 Ford Windstar Kenny Brown Supercharged on 2040-cars
North Fort Myers, Florida, United States
I bought this van in 2007 to be able to take my kids and grandkids on trips without taking two cars. I always said I wouldn't be caught dead in a mini van until I found this mini van. We used it and had fun with it until my family out grew it in 2010. Since then it has only been used once in a while and has been stored at my company. It runs and drives good there is some wear on the drivers seat and there are some dents but overall nice for its age and mileage. Now for the fun part it was a one off concept vehicle built by famed Mustang tuner Kenny Brown. If you don't know of Kenny Brown you can Google Kenny Brown Windstar van. The list of mods are Eaton Supercharger and 2 1/2" full length dual exhaust for a performance kick every van should have and what Kenny is known for is handling to that end he paired Koni yellow sport shocks with Eibach springs and a big front sway bar, frame connectors and chassis stiffening, 13" Cobra front breaks behind 18" chrome Antera wheels and Recaro leather sport seats to hold you in place, the custom stereo that was state of the art at its time comes with the van but has been upgraded with a new DVD head unit and two new TV screens that have to be installed that's right THREE TV's. Ready to take anywhere and have the coolest van around. |

Ford looks to protect logo from Toronto mayor followers
Fri, 15 Nov 2013One is a member of the Detroit Three and the maker of the Mustang, Fusion, Explorer and F-150. The other is an admitted loudmouthed, drunk-driving, crack-smoking mayor in Canada. Unfortunately for one, it shares its name with the other. Yes, Ford Motor Company is going to great lengths to keep its iconic Blue Oval logo from being appropriated by supporters of besieged Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
At a United Way event earlier this week, some of Mayor Ford's fans showed up with shirts that featured the automaker's logo with the words "Ford Nation," on them. Naturally, Mayor Ford signed them. FoMoCo was quick to issue an unhappy statement:
"Ford did not grant permission for use of its logo. We view it as an unauthorized use of our trademark and have asked it to be stopped," spokesperson Jay Cooney said. There was also a statement from Ford of Canada's Twitter account after a user alerted the company:
The 11 most expensive American cars ever
Tue, 12 Aug 2014Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.
Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
