Vehicle came out of Auburn Indiana. Previous owner had done a recent body-on restoration on the vehicle, which included paint/bodywork, new chrome bumpers, new interior, new convertible top, new whitewall tires, new gas tank and tons more. This is a RUST-FREE CAR that is turn-key and ready to drive anywhere.
OPTIONS:
Power steering
Power brakes
Vintage Air Conditioning
Two Tops (porthole hardtop in white, and convertible top)
#s Matching 312ci/245hp V8 motor
Automatic transmission
Whitewall tires
Under the hood lies a virtually all stock and unmodified 312ci motor with factory 245hp. Meticulously serviced throughout its life. Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice and throaty exhaust system. Transmission is solid and shifts good without any noises or grinding. I drive the car about once every other week for short trips around down or every once in a while I'll take it to a cruise night on the highway. It has never let me down and always performs great.
Interior is basically all stock and COMPLETELY REDONE. Door panels in excellent shape. Dash is very clean (has carpeted dash cover in pictures, but clean underneath with some glue strips on it). Seats in excellent shape throughout. Nice carpet. Overall beautifully presentable for a high end driver.
EXCELLENT CHROME throughout (front and rear bumpers were rechromed and look great).
Underside has a SOLID frame with NO rot or major rust other than some on the surface. Floors appear very nice. Trunk pan looks very good as well.
The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in VERY GOOD shape throughout, and although it looks fairly good with plenty of shine, it has various small chips, and one 2" hairline crack by front passenger wheel well. Not working: wipers (NEW motor included but not yet installed), may need a couple of bulbs replaced here and there, a/c could use recharge/service. Brakes work fine but steers to the right when braking hard (most likely worn wheel cylinder, which I will have my mechanic replace before auction ends if I get to it). Missing: one rear wheel skirt. Two smaller gauges from dash cluster were removed and rebuilt, not yet reinstalled (they are included of course). NEW weatherstripping and window felt strips are included with the car, but not yet installed. Convertible top canvas has two tiny holes from being "pinched" behind the seat when stored.
So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of very minor TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 60 years old so keep that in mind.
If you just want a GREAT LOOKING TURN-KEY DRIVER then this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some work to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.
