It has never had paint or bodywork and has an interior and body free of wear and visible defects. Its clean engine compartment is free of fluid leaks. It also has a clean title history, has complete and verifiable service records and will pass safety and smog inspection."

This is a very clean 2002 Ford Taurus SE Deluxe with 121,975 miles. This 4-door sedan is powered by a 3.0 liter 12 valve V-6 engine and automatic transmission with overdrive. It was relatively loaded in 2002 with cruise control, power windows, locks, mirrors, driver's seat, and adjustable pedals. The air conditioning blows cold and the heat is hot. The factory AM/FM stereo includes a six disc CD changer. It has two sets of keys with keyless entry.

The paint is in great condition with just a touch of rust starting in front of the driver's side rear wheel. There are a couple of small door dings and scratches around the car. The front seat has seatbelts for three, but the center seat can fold down as an armrest and center console. The rear seat is equipped with child seat tethers. All the seats and carpet are clean and in good condition. There are factory floor mats for both the front and rear. The trunk is large and has a cargo net.

The car was purchased new by an older man I know and he put the first 115,000 miles on it. All the miles are highway as it was mostly driven downstate Illinois. I purchased it four months ago to use for the summer while back in the USA. He had replaced the spark plugs, wires, computer, and rebuilt the brakes right before selling it to me. I have been very impressed with the mechanical and aesthetic condition of this car. I would happily keep it, but I will be returning to work overseas soon.

I will accept cash or certified check for any purchase. Please contact me if you have any questions or require additional information. This car drives and feels like it will last for a long time! It would be a safe, cheap family car or starter car. It definitely will make someone very happy!

Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."

Shelby GT500 and Roush Stage 3 go head to head at the drag strip

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

The Ford Mustang is a brilliantly affordable source of horsepower, with a base 300-plus-horsepower version available for well under $30,000. Jumping up to about $35,000 will get you a solid 420 horsepower from a high-revving V8, while those with some extra disposable income can get a pair of 600-plus-horsepower monsters. Both the Roush Stage 3 with its Phase 3 package and Ford's factory Shelby GT500 even crest the 650-horsepower mark, with 675 and 662 ponies, respectively.
Naturally, someone needed to find out which of these hi-po Mustangs was the quickest. And while this video is quite obviously a dealership commercial, at least there's some solid drag racing between two of the most powerful performance machines available for under $100,000.
With two NHRA drag racers at the wheel, the Stage 3 and GT500 go head to head for three races. Scroll down below to see the results in the full video.

Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
