Custom Built Ford Ranger (raptor) With Gps, Ac, Custom Sound System, 5" Lift on 2040-cars
Pilot Point, Texas, United States
A custom-built Ford Ranger by Monstars Customs. Although it was manufactured in 1994, the vehicle was stripped down, designed and rebuilt by Monstars Customs, a specialty custom car shop based in Pilot Point, TX. We spared no expense in creating a unique, one-of-a-kind "raptor style" truck. The odometer registers 106,465 miles; however, we installed a Ford re-manufactured engine which carries a transferable, three year, unlimited mileage "parts and labor" warranty by Ford Motor Company. On the exterior, the Ford Ranger was fit with an aftermarket "raptor-style" fiberglass body kit. It has a custom made pre-runner bumper and tire mount (with spare rim & tire included). The bed was finished with a durable spray-in liner and the truck was retro fit with aftermarket LED headlights, tail lights and third brake lights. The truck was lifted using a 5” ProComp Suspension lift kit with ES3000 shocks and has been fit with aftermarket rims & off-road tires. The exhaust was upgraded with a performance muffler to give a deep, sporty sound. The Ranger has remote lock/start and a deep window tint. The interior has been remodeled with brand new carpet & headliner. The dashboard has been Kevlar painted with blue accent trim (to match the exterior paint). A custom made center console has been fit between two aftermarket bucket seats, each equipped with 4-point safety harnesses. The console houses a 7” touch screen GPS unit. The door speakers have been upgraded with performance Kickers and complimented with a dual 10” sub woofer mounted in custom speaker boxes in the rear of the truck. Aftermarket visors are mounted on the driver and passenger side housing a 7.8” TFT monitor display. There are many more features added to this vehicle. Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]
Tue, 11 Feb 2014A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.
What next for Alan Mulally?
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.
eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history
Sat, 03 May 2014You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.
