"1963 Ford Ranchero"

This is a VERY nice driver quality Ranchero!! The odometer reads 70686 and is believed to be the actual mileage from what I was told when I bought it. But, I can not verify this because the title shows the mileage as exempt.

The actual VIN number for this Ranchero is 3R27U145879. The title is a clear Indiana title in my name.

This Ranchero has the 170 cu. in. 6 cylinder engine, 3-speed (on-the-tree) manual transmission and manual steering and brakes.

***EXTERIOR COLOR--Pearl White ***INTERIOR COLOR--Red and White (Nice bench seat has small tears in seam.) ***NEW INTERIOR PARTS--Carpet, door panels, arm rests, door felts and seals. Headliner is in good condition. ***GAUGES--All gauges (Speedometer, gas gauge, temperature gauge) are functional. ***ENGINE--Original stock 170 cubic inch 6 cylinder that runs GREAT! Recent valve adjustment. ***NEW (UNDER THE HOOD) PARTS--Rebuilt stock 1-barrel carburetor, new starter, new distributor, new points, plugs, plug wires, new fuel pump, new battery and new solenoid. ***OTHER NEW PARTS--New gas tank with new fuel sending unit. New Monroe "Sensa-Trac" load-adjusting rear shocks and new Monroe front shocks. Front end suspension and steering are good with no issues. The lower control arms have also been replaced at some point. ***TRANSMISSION--Original stock 3-speed manual transmission with fresh fluids that shifts well through all gears. New output shaft seal. ***BRAKES--Drum brakes that work well and have been gone through on all 4 wheels. ***TIRES & WHEELS--Newer 14" chrome wheels with FORD chrome center caps and newer white-wall tires that are like new!! ***STEREO--New Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with Bluetooth and remote control mounted in the glovebox. New 3-way Pioneer speakers mounted in rear behind seat and New 2-way Pioneer speakers mounted in front kick panels. Original radio in dash, but is not functional. ***WINDOW GLASS--All windows are in great condition. ***BUMPERS--Good condition. ***BED/TAILGATE--Truck bed is in good condition with no holes. Tailgate works properly.

All of the parts listed above as being NEW were put on or in the Ranchero within the past 1-2 years!! This Ranchero has had a restoration sometime in the past, but I am not sure when. The floorpans have been repaired in the past before I bought it. They are solid and functional, but not reproduction floorpans!! Overall, this Ranchero is solid and it looks GREAT!! But, it is not perfect! Mechanically, it is near perfect and runs and drives GREAT!! This Ranchero is a BLAST to drive and always draws attention wherever I go!! Circumstances change, so I have decided to sell it. I HAVE SET A VERY LOW RESERVE ON THIS RANCHERO!! Especially, when you consider the overall condition and everything that has been done to it!! I also have a 1963 Ford Falcon Futura 4-door sedan that is a original factory 260 cu. in. V-8 engine, automatic transmission car with factory power steering. It has 63530 ACTUAL miles!! I bought this car, just in case, I ever wanted to put a V-8 in the Ranchero!! I am going to put it on Ebay later.

***TERMS OF SALE--A $500.00 Deposit (Non-Refundable) is required within 24 hours of auction ending and the balance due after the deposit must be PAID IN FULL within 7 days of auction end. Pickup must be within 7-10 days, unless other arrangements are made with seller!! NO SHIPPING, unless buyer makes all arrangements and payment for shipping!! I will assist in any way I can, if buyer chooses to have the Ranchero shipped.

Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.

RTR Spec 5 Concept shows off 2015 Ford Mustang's drifty potential

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Meet the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept, a fully functional drift car that, according to our team in Sin City, has been doling out demo drifts in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Destined to be the flagship of RTR's Tactical Performance Line, the Spec 5 Concept is, in addition to its 5.0-liter Aluminator V8 engine, chock full of performance parts that you can buy for your very own 2015 Mustang. In addition to the Ford Racing engine, the OEM parts supplier has lent the Spec 5 an aluminum radiator and a close-ratio six-speed transmission.
ASD Motorsports provided the front lower control arms, while the car itself rides on a fully customized coilover suspension. Magnaflow and American Racing have provided the exhaust system and headers, respectively. 20-inch HRE wheels, designed for RTR, are wrapped in sticky Nitto rubber.

1964 Ford GT40 prototype to be auctioned in April

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The Ford GT40 owns a firm spot on the list of the greatest American racecars ever made, being the first car from the United States to take an overall win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And now Mecum will auction what it claims is second-oldest GT40 still in existence at its Houston sale on April 12.
The story of the GT40 is fascinating. Henry Ford II attempted to buy Ferrari in the early '60s, but Enzo refused. Ford decided if he couldn't have them, then he would beat the Prancing Horse on the track. Ford went to Carroll Shelby and asked him to spearhead the program. The early cars combined a steel monocoque chassis with Ford's 4.2-liter V8 engine pumping out around 350 horsepower. The first prototype made its public debuted on April 1, 1964, at the New York Auto Show.
Shelby kept building prototypes, including GT/104, which is for sale here. This version featured a lighter steel chassis and was raced at Le Mans in 1964. However, a fire forced it to retire. It was then repainted and had a 4.7-liter (289-cubic-inch) engine fitted. The chassis had its best finish at the 1965 Daytona Continental 2,000 Kilometers where it finished third with Bob Bondurant and Ritchie Ginther behind the wheel. Later that season, it was shipped back to Ford where it was restored and displayed at auto shows until 1971 when the automaker sold it. Since then, it has had many private owners.
