1936 Ford 1 1/2 Ton Flatbed Truck **no Reserve** on 2040-cars

Year:1936 Mileage:0
Location:

New Castle, Pennsylvania, United States

New Castle, Pennsylvania, United States

You are bidding on a 1936 Ford 1 1/2 ton flatbed truck that was originally found in Wyoming and brought to Western PA and stored in a climate controlled garage for the past 20 years.

It is a project that I will never get to and do not have room to store anymore so my loss will be your gain. I've seen a few of these trucks over the years but none in this good of original condition. It is a project truck with 98% of it's original parts in place and would be ready to drive with little effort. I recently started to get it ready for the road and just can't find the time to get it done.

In the past 3 months I put in a new 6volt battery, replaced the original soft fuel lines, plugs and fan belt. I will also include the new parts I've started collecting for it as well as vehicle records that date back to 1974. It hasn't been started in 20 years but it was put into hibernation the proper way so with a little care and attention to detail, it will roar back to life pretty easy. The original V8 flathead has good compression and was a good runner before it was put away.

This truck was built and used as a derrick truck, or "pole derrick", and has pulled many logs out of the Wyoming wilderness over the years. The original derrick boom is no longer with us but the PTO driven winch is still in the bed and fully operational.

I only have a few good pictures of it to add to this auction but I would be more than willing to take pictures of what ever you want to see and email them to you. It will be listed local as well so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime prior to receiving bids. Please ask any and all questions before you bid. $500 deposit will be required with balance due at time of pick up. If you plan to have it shipped, it will be up to you to arrange.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines

Sun, 24 Nov 2013

Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.

Are you the next Ford Edge? [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.
UPDATE: Substituted clearer image - thanks, Sean!
