I am offering my 2009 Red Shelby GT500KR for sale to the lucky high bidder.

I an the second owner of this car and purchased it with 7000 miles on it back in November of 2011.

This car is in great condition and shows only minimal wear. I am a picky person when it comes to condition and care as most individuals who own these car tend to be.

In September of 2012 the Factory clutch assembly was replaced by my local Ford dealer under TSB 10-3-8 at 12,412 miles.

This car comes complete with factory manuals and documentation including the unopened Ford Racing brake duct kit.

The carfax and autocheck are clear of any problems and you can feel assured this car will exceed your expectations for a KR with 15 thousand miles.

The are some tiny chips on the front bumper from little road rocks but nothing severe.

I have made a few tiny "bolt-on" changes to the appearance using parts from Shelby American in Las Vegas. These changes can easily be reversed using the stock parts which are included with the sale of this car.

 *Shorty Antenna
*Shelby GT500KR door sills with CSM number engraved
*Billet Aluminum GT500KR engraved fuel door
 *Perfect Flash sequential tail lights

The reserve on this car is $40,000. My local bank holds the lien on this car and as such full payment and transfer of title will be handled through legitimate banking means.

This car is sold AS-IS. The transmission repair performed by Ford will carry a 12 month 12000 mile warranty from the date of repair.

A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 72 hrs from the close of this auction.

Good luck and happy bidding.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.

Mustang-themed pinball game debuting in Chicago [w/video]

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

Believe it or not, but new pinball machines are still being made. Chicago-based Stern Pinball still makes them and has found a niche selling modern machines to individual buyers and arcade distributors. For its latest cabinet, Stern partnered with Ford to create a pinball game that pays homage to the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, including the next generation. The new machine is being unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6 and goes on sale in March.
Stern is offering the machine in three variants. The pro-level machine is meant for arcades and public spaces and retails for $4,995. All of them come with background and cabinet art by Camilo Pardo, who designed the Ford GT, and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is the game's announcer. Depending on where players shoot the ball, they activate events that simulate drag racing, rallying, drifting and racing the Mustang, and hitting targets lets players shift the gears up and down.
An upgraded, premium table with added art will be added later for pinball machine collectors. The third model is a signed, special edition with art of the 1965 Mustang and 2015 Mustang on the machine and chrome and Mustang badges on the speaker grilles. Prices for these editions will be announced later.
