This mint, showroom condition 2001 Zinc Yellow Cobra convertible has ONLY 3,872 miles !  This is one of only 316 Zinc Yellow convertibles built in 2001 and is build #1812 out of a total of 3,384 cobras produced in 2001.  It is completely stock with the only three options offered; 17" polished aluminum wheels, front floor mats, and the rear single wing spoiler.  It comes with the standard convertible boot.  The car has always been garaged and has never been driven in either rain or snow.  This is strictly a Sunday driver.  It looks and drives as if it just came off the truck.  It is perfect in every way; no chips, no dings, no dents - looks brand new.  The engine still has the original chalk marks.  I have several original build sheets, all the SVT paperwork, all the original window stickers, along with the history of its build.  The interior is charcoal grey with leather-trimmed front sport seats with Alcantara inserts.

The 32-valve, 4.6 L, 281-cube V8 engine is rated at 320hp.  It has an aluminum block with a forged-steel crank.  The engine's aluminum alloy pistons have shallow skirts and a special friction-reducing coating on their surfaces; the compression ratio is 9.85:1.  The intake system begins with the throttle body which is made up of twin 57 mm bores; next in line is an 80 mm mass air sensor.  The tumble port cylinder head valve sizes are 37 mm on intake and 30 mm on exhaust.  The engine employs a distributorless, coil-on-plug ignition system.  The engine is hand-assembled at Ford's Romeo, Michigan engine plant by two-person teams on a separate and dedicated line.  In addition, standard is all-speed traction control system(TCS) as well as IRS.

I am the original owner .  This is one of a kind.  The oil has been changed every year with synthetic Mobil 1 regardless of mileage.  You will not find a more pristine, low mileage 2001 Cobra anywhere.  The pictures really do not do justice to how it looks and runs.  The car cannot be picked up by the new owner until payment funds have been cleared or have been verified by the bank.  The car is being sold as is and with no warranty.

The car is being sold locally. As such, I can end the auction at any time.

Please e-mail me with any questions.  Thanks for looking.

2014 Ford Fiesta ST

Concentrated ST Formula Proves Just As Potent
I'm not the jealous type... usually. But I will fully admit to being somewhat of a Pouty Polly when I read executive editor Chris Paukert's report after driving the then-new 2013 Ford Focus ST through the impossibly pretty southern French Alps region last June. I feel like a broken record saying this yet again, but hot hatchbacks hold a special place in my heart. And while I'm always giddy to drive any sort of small, turbocharged three- or five-door at home in Detroit, my jealousy was indeed piqued after hearing Paukert tell about the challenging yet breathtaking roads he encountered while driving the flamin' yellow Focus. You know, the sort of roads that, from above, look like carelessly drizzled lines of icing on the frosted Alpen caps.
Several months later, I found myself piloting a Focus ST just west of metro Detroit, pitting it head-to-head against one of Autoblog's perennial favorite cars, the Volkswagen GTI. It was fantastic - enough so that I fully stand behind my statement that in terms of balls-out performance, the Focus ST cannot be beat as far as today's front-wheel-drive hatches are concerned.

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible to recreate Empire State Building stunt

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

It would have been all too easy to miss the auto show debut of the 2015 Ford Mustang convertible. It was, after all, unveiled alongside its fixed-roof counterpart at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, lumping coupe and cabrio into one debut. But Ford is evidently still intent on making its new droptop stand out. The top of the Empire State Building ought to do the trick.
Automotive history buffs may recall that, 50 years ago, Ford unveiled its first Mustang convertible atop what was then the tallest building in the world, that Art Deco icon of the New York skyline. Half a century later, Ford is recreating the feat and bringing the new topless Mustang to the same observation deck on the building's 86th floor.
Getting it up there, of course, will be no easy task. While they'd usually airlift the vehicle onto the roof or lift it by crane, the spire protruding from atop the building makes approaching the narrow observation deck too dangerous, and no mobile crane can telescope the thousand-plus feet it would take to get the pony car up there.

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.
