1994 Ford Mustang Svt Cobra, 4,300 Miles, Rio Red, Black Leather Interior on 2040-cars
Wilmington, Delaware, United States
I purchased the vehicle Oct. 2010 w/1,765 from the original owner, a 72 yr. co-worker who was retiring. His 1st 5 yrs. of ownership, he put 900 miles on the car, the last 9 yrs. less than 900 miles. The vehicle when not in use was stored covered in his barn. Immediately, upon purchase, I had the following services performed: oil/filter change, air/fuel filters changed, flush/refill cooling and brake systems, new battery and tires. The following services were performed by a Mustang Specialist: new platinum plugs, Ford Racing wires, oem dist. cap, new pcv w/screen and serpentine belt. The rear upper/lower control arms and spring dampers were replaced. The trans and rear diff. were flushed and replaced w/Amsoil synthetic oil. New Ford Racing gears, 3:73, were installed along with a MGW shifter and MagnaFlow stainless steel mufflers. I also installed a rear seat delete kit(fiberglass not plywood). I have all of the original parts that were replaced: spark pugs, serpentine belt, wires, ring and pinion, mufflers etc and of course the rear seat. The vehicle has been garaged, covered and never in bad weather. It is a multiple trophy winner at JUDGED and popular vote events. The paint is completely original, no accidents. It has 3 small nicks that occurred while it is in storage. I have the build sheet, SVT certificate, original protecto plate, receipts for services, magazine article's etc. The vehicle is in excellent condition, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a 1994-95, look no further. |

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
Ford Mustang GT Bi-Fuel CNG
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Highly intrigued, we recently visited a Southern California Gas Company office to check out several hybrid vehicles promising something new. Unlike more commonplace gasoline-electric hybrids, we were there to evaluate innovative gasoline-compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrids - yes, they run on unleaded gasoline and compressed natural gas. According to the experts on hand, this arrangement delivers extended range and reduced emissions while chipping in with lower operating costs than pure-gasoline vehicles. There are advantages over its gasoline-electric counterparts, as well.
The program is part of a three-way collaboration between The Carlab, a Southern California-based automotive consulting firm, Landi Renzo USA, a company specializing in alternative fuel solutions, and America's Natural Gas Alliance, a group that promotes CNG. Long story short, the team has engineered a way to allow a modified internal combustion vehicle to seamlessly switch between two fuels (gasoline and CNG) with no driver intervention. In theory, and if it works as well as promised, it's a win-win for the vehicle owner and the environment.
Parked at the Gas Company office were six different gasoline-CNG hybrid vehicles. To demonstrate the technology's versatility (just about any gasoline vehicle may be modified) Carlab brought a varied assortment of bodystyles, each from a different automaker. After taking a quick glance at the half-dozen in the parking lot, we made a beeline for the performance-oriented Ford Mustang GT - a 2012 model - with the six-speed manual gearbox.
Cadillac ELR, Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas win Eyes on Design awards
Fri, 18 Jan 2013This year's annual Eyes on Design awards were presented at the end of press days for the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday. Given out for the best production and concept car designs that debuted at the show, and voted on by an esteemed panel of actual car designers, this year's award for best production vehicle design went to the 2014 Cadillac ELR. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, which was the show favorite among Autoblog editors, apparently did not impress the Eyes on Design judges enough with its all-new vent-festooned design.
The award for best concept design was actually split as a tie among the Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas concepts. Last year's winners were the 2013 Ford Fusion and the Lexus LF-LC concept.
The Eyes on Design organization also presented a new honor this year called the Catalyst Award to Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman of General Motors. Lutz is reported to have given a defense of design in his acceptance speech, arguing that advancements in quality across the industry as a whole have made good design a key differentiator for buyers.
