1985 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Fox Body T-Top Roller

No motor
No transmission
Mileage is an estimation Odometer reads 30,042. Registration license plate sticker shows that this vehicle hasn't been on the road since 1999. It's currently in non-op status. This vehicle comes with a bill of sale. I can get a title from the CA DMV for $100. That is in addition to the purchase price.

I bought this car for another project and now I don't need it. I know someone out there can use these parts.

This is a solid California car. Body is clean with minimal surface rust (paint is sun burned off)on hood and roof and small dents/dings throughout. This will make a great donor body.

Please look at the images. What you see is what you get. Included is the Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner.

It has been converted to a 5 lug front and back supposedly with Lincoln rotors and Ranger axles. I have been told that it has drag shocks and springs but I can't confirm that. Rims are 5 lug Lincoln Mark VII.

Rear Hatch is from an 1987 GT. This has some rust on it (most likely some holes under that bubbled rust). Also included is the 1985 wing. T-tops are in decent shape and include locks and keys. I think they have been re-keyed.

Passenger side door is from a 1986 convertible and the glass is too short.

Driver side fender has a deep long crease. Just about eevry surface has a ding or dent.

The nose is is fair shape and is a good candidate to be refurbished. Included is another fiberglass reinforcement.

Interior is missing front seats and many other parts.

Car does roll.

Local pickup only. You can set up your own tow company. I can help with being here when a car hauler gets here.

I'd be happy to answer questions. It's best to message me your phone number and I will call you.

I am not a professional ebayer. I sell stuff that I like but don't need anymore. I have tried to describe this openly and honestly. I really like Fox Body Mustangs. I know someone out there can use this car and it's parts.

Thank you.

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.

Ford Focus 1.0-liter Ecoboost to only get manual trans in US

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

Photos of the 2015 Ford Focus leaked earlier today, but now we're able to tell you more details of the global five-door hatchback. Bucking automaker's troubling trend of ditching manual transmissions in favor of automatics, Ford says the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine will come only in a six-speed manual in the US, because, well, American drivers aren't as sophisticated as our European brothers and sisters.
Ford didn't come out and say it that way, but it has found American drivers are more prone to complain about automatics in smaller-engine cars, Raj Nair, Ford's group vice president of global product development, said at a press conference last week. The recent JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study backs up Ford's claims, pointing out that drivers are complaining about rough transmission shifts, engine hesitation and lack of power, particularly in small cars. In Europe and other parts of the world, drivers seem to understand the quirks of these pint-sized engines, Nair said, so they'll have the option to buy an automatic. Ford is working on tuning its dual-clutch transmissions to make them more amenable to American driver's tastes.
Ford will show off the refreshed 2015 Focus at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. The car is due for an update, having been on sale in its current form since 2012. The automaker said it is jamming the car full of new technology - like a USB port that promises to charge your phone in half the time as a regular USB port. Features like Sync and a rear back-up camera will come standard. For a more in-depth look at the car, take a look at the full press release.

2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.
