HERE IS A VERY NICE LOOKING AND GREAT DRIVING 1966 FORD MUSTANG HARDTOP WITH STOCK NUMBERS MATCHING 289CI/225HP A-CODE V8 AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. VERY ORIGINAL CAR WITH 72,553 MILES SHOWING ON THE ODOMETER.

Please e-mail me with questions or to set up an inspection to see the car in person. AUCTION MAY BE STOPPED AT ANY TIME.

Vehicle came out of Wisconsin. Previous owner recently had the body completely repainted. This was a very original car, with one recent repaint. It has been mechanically maintained so it runs/drives good and can be driven anywhere.

Under the hood lies the Stock MATCHING NUMBERS 289ci/225hp A-CODE 4V V8 motor that is virtually all stock down to the original valve covers, exhaust manifolds etc.

Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears. Brakes have been checked and adjusted and stop well. Car feels great, handles the road nicely, sounds great and is very responsive with a little play in the steering wheel.

Interior is all stock and original as you'll see in the pictures. Seats are in fairly good shape (some seam splits on driver's front seat). Dash is very good. Door panels are good. Carpet is old and worn but still fairly presentable. Headliner is NEW. Steering wheel has various cracks.  Overall a very presentable interior for a good driver.

Underside actually appears to be in typical older Mustang shape. Floorboards have been patched amateurly with sheetmetal (NEW FLOORBOARDS ARE AVAILABLE). Frame rails have rust on rear passenger side (where the extension close to the bumper is) and front driver's side, but can easily be patched/replaced. Shock towers still in one piece. Trunk appears to be VERY NICE.

The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is overall VERY GOOD with VERY NICE shine and only minor imperfections. Not working: radio, horn, couple of the smaller gauges disconnected, perhaps a bulb or two may need replacing. Carburetor could use some adjustment as car is a little cold natured, but otherwise runs/drives great. Appears that dash was cut at one point to house custom radio, which was recently replaced with stock one.

I am sure there are several other things I am forgetting at the moment, so overall she is not perfect and to do it justice should be gently restored to your liking, or you can just drive it as is. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 50 years old so keep that in mind.

If you just want a GOOD LOOKING AND SUPER FUN DRIVER that runs/drives good, then this is the car for you. If you want a concourse correct show car, it will need a considerable amount of restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.

James Franco and tiger tease Ford Super Bowl commercial

Sat, 01 Feb 2014

Ford has just released a teaser for its Super Bowl ad, and unlike just about every other automaker, it seems that the Blue Oval is going to make us wait until Sunday to see the full spot. The teaser is, um, strange.
It stars James Franco, who believes he is Ron Riggle, the comedian, Fox NFL Sunday host and retired Marine lieutenant colonel. There's also a tiger. The vague spot has Franco claiming that "this is no ordinary commercial." You'll note on the bottom right, there's a Ford logo and the hashtag #nearlydouble.
According to Automotive News, it's part of a massive viral effort being pushed forward by Ford and its dealerships. Ford sent different teasers and "vignettes" to dealership employees and asked them to share them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, in the hopes of creating a viral effect.

Ford bringing production F-150 to Detroit with Atlas styling and Alcoa blast shields

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

According to a report in Bloomberg, the 2015 Ford F-150 will indeed be showing up at the Detroit Auto Show next month. It will bring attitude with it, not only in the form of sheetmetal inspired by the Atlas concept (pictured) that appeared at the 2013 Detroit show but also in the Alcoa military blast shields among the display being used to showcase the ruggedness of aluminum.
There's been a lot of talk about the F-150 switching to aluminum body panels (although maintaining a steel frame), and for good reason. The lightweight body is expected to shed more than 700 pounds and greatly increase its highway mileage, but production-line issues and possible delays have been a major focus of attention concerning the best-selling vehicle in America for 32 years, meaning Ford has to get it right. F-150 is responsible for a massive portion of the company's global profits and it will come in a year when company profits are already predicted to decline because of new car launches.
When it comes to dings, the Bloomberg story says Ford wants Alcoa to supply some of the military-grade aluminum it uses for blast shields on battlefield vehicles to help it talk up the toughness of aluminum. Reading commentary on the many stories about the F-150 reveals there are many more little questions about the aluminum overhaul, like "How much will it cost to repair and insure?" and "How will companies hang their magnetic signs?" Answers should start coming in a couple of weeks.
