Up for bids is this 1965 ford mustang. It is a very nice car. It has been restored. I bought this car as a project and done alot of work to it. This car originally came with a 6 cylinder but now has a V8 in it. It is a 289 engine with a c-4 automatic transmission. Here is a breakdown of what I done to the car. I will start with the mechanicals and go through everything. I replaced the radiator, carburator, and did a full tune up on the engine. The motor runs great. I also put a new thermostat and thermostat housing on it. The transmission was rebuilt. It has less than 50 miles on it. It has new tires and new blue dot spinner hub caps on it. I had the front end checked out and they guy said it all looked new so I guess it was replaced before I got it. I had the front brake wheel cylinders and lines replaced. I also had the rear wheel bearing replaced. On the exterior I had a new paint job done which is the same gray color as the elanor fastback was in gone in 60 seconds. I had new bumpers, new door handles, new locks, new mirror, new gas cap, and a new trunk mat put on. I also had the grille cleaned and buffed so it looks like new. The paint job turned out good and looks good. The interior is nice. It was already pretty nice when I got it but I did replace the gauge cluster cover, the arm rest and pads, and I added a wood grain steering wheel which looks nice. The gauges work on the dash as well. I done alot of work to the car and as always this is almost a 50 year old car so there is always something to fix or add to these classics depending on someones taste but I have done about all I need to do to it so it is time to let someone else have it and enjoy it. As for the body before I got it at some point the floor pans were replaced and one of the lower rear quarters were replaced. This is a nice car that you could show or drive. Like I said I have alot of time and money in this car. If you need more info on it just email me or call me at 318-278-1069. As for payment methods I will accept cash in person or bank wire transfer as paymethods. I will also accept a certified check from a bank but I will have to speak to the bank to make sure it is good. Nothing personal but there is to much funny money out there these days. As for pick up it will have to be picked up in Jonesboro Louisiana. I can store it as long as needed but I will require full payment within seven days of the end of auction. Again if you need info or have questions email me or call me. Also please understand this is a real auction for a real car so please don't play games. Please make 100% sure you want to purchase it and you have the funds to pay for it before you bid. I do have a clear title for it.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft
Tue, 07 Jan 2014In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.
F-150 just the start of Ford's aluminum plans
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Not only have we been told that the 2015 Ford F-150 is tougher, more durable and up to 700 pounds lighter than the current truck, Ford COO Mark Fields said it's also "CAFE-positive." That means, for the first time in the history of corporate average fuel economy standards, the F-150 would be a positive contributor on Ford's CAFE balance sheet instead of being a vehicle it needs to counterbalance with frugal offerings.
Fields' comments made at the Detroit Auto Show were among quotes from other Ford execs that confirmed the carmaker will be using aluminum for more of its vehicles. CEO Alan Mulally said it would "proliferate across our lineup," with speculation being that we'll see it applied to crossover and sport utility models first, since they'll benefit the most. Even gaining the massive scale of using aluminum on the world's best selling vehicle for its first effort - on average, the company sells two times as many F-150s in a single day as Land Rover sells of its aluminum Range Rover in a month - Ford will be looking to further spread the cost of its five-year development investment in aluminum technology. And that should mean better handling and fuel economy for those of us who don't need to wear hardhats at the office.
