For auction is this old Model T Bakery truck. The chassis includes all the parts i got with the truck. All the chassis parts need to be rebuilt or restored. The block is complete with pistons, rods and crankshaft. There is no transmission. The body was acquired by a gentleman in Southern California sometime in the 1950's. As he related, it was owned by the Davis Standard Bread Co of Los Angeles, CA. It may have started life as a horse drawn wagon, and then converted to a Model T chassis as the bakery modernized there fleet of delivery trucks. Most of the original body is still there, the only thing i see missing is the front seat riser. Above the green banner, which says Rolls, Doughnuts, and Cakes, was a canvas sign with the bakeries logo that is long since gone. You can still see bits of the canvas. As you open the back doors, there were 2 pullout wood trays, one of which is still there. This is body number 92, so the Davis bakery had quite a fleet. This body could be repaired and left in pretty much its original state or restored into a very nice unique truck. Included are a full set of fenders, splash aprons and running boards. The front fenders have never been used. When i bought this truck, the body, the sides were covered in tin and those pieces will be included. Delivery is the buyers responsibility and i will help in any way i can. This is a very rare opportunity to own a very unique piece of history. THERE IS NO TITLE FOR THIS TRUCK!

Former Ford CEO Mulally won't run for president
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Alan Mulally will not be following his successful term as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company with a run at an even bigger presidency. Rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would make a run at the White House sprouted after his apparent dodging of a reporter's questions about a potential candidacy during a forum in Indianapolis.
"I really think it's important that we all pull together. We really need to pull together around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together. We really need to do it," Mulally said at the conference, according to The Detroit News.
He's since clarified by saying, "[I'm] honored at the suggestion, but that is not a role I am considering."
Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks
Fri, 19 Sep 2014It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.
