This auction is for a 1928 Ford Model A 2 Door Sedan. This car is powered by a 4 cylinder engine, and has a Manual Transmission. It runs GREAT, and shifts through all gears as it should though there is a little clunking happening when starting out in first gear. (This could be normal for these cars, I really don't know, but I'm told that it is). I don't know a whole lot about the history of this car, but I bought it from a very good customer/friend of mine who has owned it for MANY years. It appears to be VERY solid, VERY well taken care of, and ACCORDING TO HIM, Mechanically All Original. As it is 85 years old of course it has a few dents, dings, passenger window crack, and other minor imperfections but it does look EVERY BIT as nice in person as it does in the pics. The rims have a minor surface rust and could probably use some repainting, and the tires are a bit dry as well. It is VERY good looking as it is, but it would also make an excellent candidate for someone looking for a complete restore project. All depends on your taste. The odometer currently says 5531 miles, and I have a CLEAR title in hand. This will be a NO RESERVE AUCTION!!

I took very large pictures of this item to show the very best look at condition as possible so please pay close attention to them. If you find that the pics appear too large on your screen just CLICK HERE to view the smaller set. The pictures will load up full size, then shrink. Just click on the bottom of the picture to view.

Anyone interested in purchasing this item is MORE THAN WELCOME , and ENCOURAGED to come check it out in person BEFORE BIDDING as all sales are final, and the car is being sold AS IS. Winning bidder will be expected to pay a $300.00 Non-refundable deposit at auctions end (this is payable through Paypal). We prefer the rest of monies to be paid in cash at or before actual date of pickup. Any other payment method will require TOTAL clearance of funds before this item is actually picked up. Buyer is responsible for picking up this item and for any associated sales tax, and or titling fee's.

If you have any questions at all, or in case I missed anything please DON'T HESITATE to call us at 815-842-3321 and ask for Derek, or Jeff. We'll be happy to help you out any way we can. Thanks for looking, and GOOD LUCK!

Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues

Fri, 09 May 2014

Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.

Enterprise working with renter's insurance to cover $47k Mustang stolen from its lot

Sat, 11 Jan 2014

There was more than a bit of public indigence following the recent story of Enterprise Rent-A-Car billing a customer $47,000 to replace a Ford Mustang GT Convertible stolen from a Nova Scotia lot. To recap: Kristen Cockerill rented the Mustang for two days, returned it to the lot on a Sunday and left the keys in a secure dropbox only for Enterprise employees to find the car gone the next day.
Despite Enterprise policies stating that customers are responsible for vehicles dropped on off-days, the company has admitted that the situation could've been handled a bit better.
In a recent statement, Enterprise has backed off the big-bill story, and claims to be working with Cockerill and her insurance company to resolve the issue. Further, the Enterprise general manager overseeing Nova Scotia has spoken with the harried renter, and apologized "for the way this claim was handled during the last few months."

2015 Ford Focus Electric hides in plain sight

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

The styling changes to the 2015 Ford Focus were shown off at the recent Geneva Motor Show, so what the EV version looks like is not that much of a surprise. Still, the 2015 Focus Electric is making its world debut here at the New York Auto Show, so we wanted to know what changes we are looking at compared to both the internal combustion engine version and the earlier EV models.
The exterior visual distinctions between the ICE and EV are minimal, and basically nonexistent from the A-pillar to the rear. Up front, you can see the charge port, of course, but the front fascia has also undergone a bit of an adjustment. The front doesn't have the ICE version's flattened grille and the EV's Ford logo creates a bump in the hood line where none exists on the ICE. The 2015's grille is also different than the one on the 2014 Focus Electric, being slightly smaller (you can see this better if you compare pictures in our new gallery above to these of the 2011 Focus Electric and these of the gas-powered 2015 Focus).
The updated 2015 interior - which we couldn't access ourselves - has things like a new center stack, improved cupholders and is basically identical between the gas and electric models. With the car off, you can't even tell if you're in an EV or ICE, Seema Bardwaj, the US brand manager for the Focus, told AutoblogGreen. The only things that are different, she said, are extra menu screens to show EV powertrain information to the driver.
