This is one really cool 1932 Ford Coupe. The car was raced from 1951-1958 by a man from Kansas named Bud Hatch. The sponsor on the side says "#17 Hank's Sinclair Service, Ottawa, KS."  That gas station is still in existence in Ottawa, KS. today. The car had many feature wins and was well known. The car was built with the idea of keeping it as close to the way it was back then. Basically, an original racecar that is street legal. The doors are all welded shut, it has an original step plate on the passenger fender, to climb in through the roof. (It's only welded in short strips, so you could possibly cut the welds and make the doors open. The hinges are still on). The inside is pretty much the way it was when we pulled the body off the original racing frame. It had a 5 gallon metal gas can for a fuel tank, so I kept it in there. It has a fresh rebuilt 302 Wakenshaw motor, runs perfect and sounds great.  It has a 60's model Mustang syncronized 3-speed tranny and shifter. It has a brand new 3 row aluminum radiator. It's been choped and narrowed 3". The body was put on a NEW professionally built boxed 32 Ford frame. The frame has been bobbed in the rear, but I have the extensions that go with it. It has disc brakes on the front, good drum brakes on the rear, brand new front shocks, brand new triangulated coil-over suspension in the rear.  This is a really cool car that has some history. It's RARE to find a car like this that was actually raced.

The disc brakes on the front need the lines hooked up, and it needs a proper fuel tank and battery installed. I will include the original 5-gallon can that was used back in the day, and I'll also send along the seat.

Ford Ka Concept shown in Brazil, could enter production by 2014

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

The Ford Ka (pronounce it like a Bostonian saying "car") is the Blue Oval's sub-Fiesta offering in a number of markets that aren't North America. It's been a staple in Europe since it launched in 1996 and in South America since 1997, where it's enjoyed quite a bit of popularity as an affordable, efficient city car.
The European and South American models grew apart over the years, until Europe ended up with a Fiesta-inspired car and Brazil retained a more evolved version of the original Ka's styling. With this Ka Concept, which is really a concept in name only, Ford is previewing a Ka not just for the European market, but as the brand's new, global small car. With city car sales expected to grow dramatically in coming years and the ever increasing price of fuel, Ford's move to get a new, competitive car into the market on a global level isn't surprising.
Wearing Ford's new, familial grille, the Ka Concept features the same crisp, sculpted sheetmetal that's adorned the Fusion and Fiesta. Developed in-house by Ford Brazil, a production version could launch by 2014, according to Ford's press release. It's unclear what engines will sit under this car's hood, although we'd bet the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Fiesta will be available at some point.

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.

Production of Shelby GT350 is coming to an end

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

One Autoblog staffer who drove the limited-edition Shelby GT350 wrote it probably was the best Mustang he'd driven, but, at some point, the fun had to come to an end: December 31 is the last day the GT350 will be available to order.
The GT350's option list has evolved much like it did for the original 1965-67 GT350. For 2011, the 45th Anniversary edition only came in coupe form and was painted white with blue stripes, just as with the 1965 car. The 2012 GT350 was offered as a coupe or convertible, and three colors were added to the option list, just like the 1966 model. For 2013, more colors and options were added in addition to equipment and styling updates, which resulted in Wilwood instead of Baer brakes. No major changes were made for the 2014 model. From the first car in 2011, customers have been able to choose between three different configurations for their 5.0-liter V8: naturally aspirated with 440 horsepower, supercharged with 525 hp (with warranty) or supercharged with 624 hp (without warranty).
"When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value," states John Luft, president of Shelby American. He may have a point, because the original GT350, which also had a limited production run, is among the most valuable muscle cars in the world.
