1930 Model A Ford pickup truck. Restored in the early 90's and parked inside most of the time since then. Still looks good from 20 ft. but up close you can see that it has a number of chips that have been spot painted over the years. I starts, runs, and drives fine. No major leaks or noises. The mechanical brakes work good. No problems with the transmission or the rear end. Chrome looks good except hubcaps are getting pretty dull. All glass is good and rolls up and down as it should. The interior including seats, door panels, and headliner, looks good. Top is good.  Lights work and so does horn but it needs adjusting.  It has an all metal body including fenders, and it's straight and rust free. Bed wood is solid but could use refinishing (varnish is peeling).  Tires are about 50%.  Has a nice trailer hitch which is bolted on and can be removed easily.   All in all, this is a nice straight and solid old truck that can be used "as is" or an easy restoration. If you have questions call me at 918-589-4140,  or on cell at 918-804-4379.  It has a buy it now price but I am open to offers.

Jay Leno's Garage goes eco with Ricardo HyBoost

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

"Now before you turn away, this is not another boring hybrid car thing..." Despite the slightly defensive introduction from Jay, the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage is actually pretty fascinating. The Ricardo HyBoost is a 2009 Ford Focus that has had a 1.1-liter engine swapped in for the stock 2.0-liter four. That might not get you performance enthusiasts out there fired up, until, that is, you hear that the 1.1L is also fed by both a turbocharger and an electrically driven supercharger for an instant-on "torque-fill" effect. Sounds about right, considering that Ricardo engineering is part of the genius behind the McLaren P1.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the Ricardo folks say that the package should run somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,100. A sort of performance-hybrid that makes sense for the frugal driver and the enthusiast one, then. There's a lot more to the HyBoost, all of which can be seen in the video below.

Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.

Watch the Hennessey Ford GT makes its record run at Texas Mile

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

We said they'd probably be out with an official video, we did not lie. The Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT sat at one end of the runway at the Texas Mile sitting still. At the other end of the runway it had broken its own speed record, the twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8 pushing the aerodynamic supercar up to 267.6 miles per hour, a 4.3-mph improvement over the old mark.
There's not much in the video you haven't already seen, this just makes it official. That said, who doesn't want to see a twin-turbo Ford GT set an incredible speed record? You can watch it below.
