62 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 2 Dr Hardtop Z-code 390 Project Or Parts Car on 2040-cars

Year:1962 Mileage:66572
Location:

Statenville, Georgia, United States

Statenville, Georgia, United States

This auction is for a very rough and rusty but complete 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop.  It is a Z-code car with the 390/4V Thunderbird motor.  Georgia will not issue titles for 1962 and older vehicles, but I have a current Georgia registration in my name.  This, along with a bill of sale will allow you to get a title in most title states (including Florida).  The car has been off the road since 1977, and has been sitting in the back of a friend's garden for the last 18-20 years. Odometer reads 66572, but I don't know if this is the actual mileage or not.  It has factory A/C, power steering and brakes, and automatic transmission.  There is heavy rust in the trunk floor, the passenger floor and the radiator core support..  A friend who specializes in Fords looked at it for me and said he thinks the motor has never been apart due to the factory lock tabs on the exhaust manifold bolts.  The trim that is missing from the doors and the hood lip moulding are included and are inside the trunk.  The car to me appears to be too far gone to restore to original, but would make an excellent parts car or maybe even a rat rod.  The previous owner had lost the keys, so I had to open the trunk by going through the back seat area.  I removed the lock and it is included with the car.  The brakes were stuck, so I have removed the brake hardware from each wheel, and the drums will all need to be replaced.  None of the side windows will roll down.  Once again, THIS CAR IS SOLD AS A ROUGH PROJECT CAR OR AS A PARTS CAR.  It will need to be hauled on a trailer or a rollback due to the condition of the tires and because it has been sitting up for so long.  It does roll very easily now for loading.  A deposit of $300 is required within 48 hours of auction end, and balance due within 7 days.  I will accept a check for balance, but will require 2 weeks to clear before car can be picked up.  I may be able to deliver the car up to 250 miles from Statenville, GA 31648 for $2.10/loaded mile.  If you want an exact delivery cost, send an exact, complete delivery address. Please email any questions or if you would like to see specific photos of any part of the car.  Thanks for looking and for bidding!!!

Ford F-150 King Ranch celebrates 'history and authenticity' for 2015 [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

What's life like on an authentic Texas ranch? We honestly have no idea, having never lived on such a ranch, but we imagine it requires lots of hard work, grit and determination to keep all 825,000 acres - that's larger than the state of Rhode Island - of the King Ranch in Texas under control. Indeed, a total of 350 vehicles, all of which come from Ford, we're told, are currently in use by the ranch. No wonder, then, that the collaboration between Ford and King Ranch has lasted for 15 successful years.
For 2015, in celebration of that 15th anniversary, Ford is debuting three new King Ranch models today at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The most significant is the 2015 F-150 King Ranch, which, naturally, will add unique interior and exterior bits and pieces to the new aluminum-intensive F-Series pickup. Color choices will consist of Caribou, Bronze Fire, Guard and Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat, with a range of two-tones to go along with a monochromatic scheme in Caribou. Inside, a bespoke King Ranch interior will be swathed in Premium Mesa Brown leather.
Joining the F-150 King Ranch on dealership floors later this year will be 2015 King Ranch editions of the Super Duty pickup and Expedition fullsize SUV, all of which will offer similar levels of content. Scroll down for more details and two videos from Ford, and be sure to check out the high-res image gallery above, which was shot by the official State Photographer of Texas, Wyman Meinzer.

Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.

Ford E-Series chassis cabs and cutaways to survive mass Transit onslaught

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

In March 2013, Ford announced we'd be getting chassis cab and cutaway versions of the Transit. Since incoming Transit vans will soon be rolling over the grave of the E-Series van, it was assumed that all E-Series models would go six feet under as well. According to a report from PickupTrucks.com, however, that's not the case, the report claiming that the highly modifiable E-350 and E-450 chassis cab and cutaway versions will continue being produced in Avon Lake, Ohio "at least until 2020."
Being decades old, the be-cabbed E-Series platform has found its way under an army of heavy-duty shuttle buses, work truck and ambulances. Ford spokeswoman Jessica Enoch verified the production horizon, telling Autoblog that the particular E-Series configuration "are a higher GVWR than the Transit chassis cab and cutaway (available this summer), which is more Class 2 and a new segment for us." So there you have it.
