NEWLY RELISTED. With lower reserve and some new pictures. I must sell this vehicle before August 20, due to lost storage!
390 V-8. 3 speed manual transmission.......runs and drives perfectly!
This beautiful Ford sedan was in storage for many years. It was not driven much by its previous owners in 45 years. I recently did a lot of the work that is needed on a stored car, and let me tell you, the car runs like a champ! The previous owner told me that her father never had the car repainted, so I assume that it is original. It certainly does not appear to have been repainted. The car is very solid - floors, frame, trunk, etc. are all in great shape. This car is a real head turner - it's always getting thumbs up on the highway. It is not a trailer queen but rather a nice cruiser or daily driver. There are a few stains in the interior and the rear seat is split a little bit on the top. I don't really think the back seat was used. The seat belts are still in their original plastic bags. There are a few minor scratches, but no rust or rot. I repeat....this is a very solid and beautiful old Ford. It is a must see automobile.
I hold the clear PA title and I also have the original window sticker, owner's manual, and 1968 Ford sales brochure.
Here is a list of what I did after getting the car from storage.
New belts and hoses , new tires, new true dual exhaust with Flowmasters, new fuel tank, new brake shoes and wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, flushed radiator, new thermostat, new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, new battery and starter solenoid, new carburetor ( I saved the original carburetor after it was rebuilt but the accelerator pump just wasn't quite right, so I put a new Holley 500 cfm 2 barrel on and it really runs great. Of course I will include the original carburetor to the high bidder. I also have an extra set of full size 1968 Galaxie hubcaps that I will include along with the beautiful dog dish hubcaps that are on the car.
This car is a real Plain Jane sleeper. It has no AC, no power brakes, no radio, and no power steering. It is just pure Michigan big block. It has a strong running 390 with a 3 speed manual transmission ( 3 on the tree). It runs smooth, shifts smoothly, accelerates strongly, tracks super straight on the highway, and brakes evenly with no pulling.
I guess this was Ford's answer to the Hemi Belvedere.
Clint Eastwood drove a car almost identical to this in the original Dirty Harry movie. I included a picture of Clint's car along with the pictures of mine. Clint's car actually is the Custom 500 and has a chrome strip. Mine is the Ford Custom base, and it has no chrome. You can see Clint's car - it is the last picture that I posted. This car look's like a police detective's car, but it does not have the police package nor was it used as a police vehicle. I guess you could call it a police car clone.
The glass is great, but the rubber around a few of the door windows is cracking. I have the replacement rubber, and I will include it as we'll.
I recently lost my rental garage when my neighbor passed away, so I need to sell it to someone who appreciates a real sleeper Ford. This car needs to be garaged and not in my driveway.
Hopefully the car will sell locally. Due to the number of scams with on-line transactions and forged bank checks, I prefer a cash transaction, and you can drive this car home. I would feel confident driving it anywhere. I really would not like to get into shipping the car. I prefer to keep it as simple as possible. There is a notary just blocks from my home that would handle the title transfer.
Don't let this barn / garage find survivor get away. You could search for years and not find another car like this with only 11,000 original miles. As a matter of fact, I have never seen another with the Ford lettering on the trunk. I believe this to be a one of a kind old Ford.
If you have questions, please ask. I will be as honest as I possibly can. As I said, I know that I am the third owner, but the second owner barely drove the vehicle.
Since I am a school teacher, this car made a fun Summer project, but I would really like to see it go before I return to the classroom.
The pictures should speak volumes about the beauty of this car. By the way, the last of the pictures is Clint Eastwood's car and not mine. I just thought it was cool for you to know that you are bidding on a car just like in the 1968 classic film.
Thanks for looking and God bless.

You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.

For the last six years, Ford has created a special version of the Mustang with a military aviation theme, and then donated the car to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to be auctioned off at the annual AirVenture event, also known as The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. The money raised goes to the EAA Young Eagles program to inspire the "aviation pioneers of tomorrow," and this year's 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition was won with a final bid of $398,000.
Celebrating 60 years of the USAF's Thunderbirds, this Mustang GT is the only one of its kind with a paint job matching the Thunderbirds' F-16 Falcon jets and some Ford Racing performance added on for good measure. Including this car, Ford has helped raise around $2.3 million for the charity with the biggest auction price coming from the first year of the program, the F-22 Raptor-inspired Mustang AV8R from 2008, which sold for $500,000.

As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.
