Up for sale is my 1966 ford LTD. This ford has some unusual options. It has PS,PB,AC, four way flashers, factory power disc brakes, and a 390 engine with factory four barrel carb. I found it through word of mouth from a friend of a friend. It had been bought by and older gentleman many years ago and had been setting in a shed for years. I believe the last inspection was 1978. It has a super body for it's age. The only rust I saw was underneath the lip of the hood and a couple of very small spots on the lower doors. I've seen very few of these LTD 2 doors with the 390 engine and even fewer with factory disc brakes and A/C.It came out factory with a vinyl top but someone had the foresight to remove it long ago before it had a chance to start rusting. I'll tell you the good and the bad. The good: It has new water pump, new belts, rebuilt four barrel carb, new master cylinder, new read wheel cylinders, rebuilt front calipers, and a new starter.  The bad: I needs a heater core and one cylinder is low on compression. I believe it has carbon under the valve because the lifter is moving as it should and all the other cylinder have good compression. I believe just about all the lights work and it stops and drive good. The interior is good but faded badly. I have a clear title in my name. You welcome to call or e-mail. Thanks for bidding. 828 781 7530

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.

Ford's Mulally makes shortlist for Microsoft CEO

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Ford CEO Alan Mulally has made the short list to take over tech giant Microsoft, lending further credence to rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would ditch Dearborn and move to Redmond.
The report comes from Reuters, which claims that alongside Mulally, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and three candidates from within Microsoft are on the short list to succeed Steve Ballmer at the company's helm, although previous reports claim the Ford exec is the number one candidate. Mulally is currently working without a contract, although Bill Ford seems to believe that he isn't likely to depart. Despite this belief, Ford was quoted just last month talking about the depth of talent on the Blue Oval's executive team.
"There is no change from what we announced last November. Alan remains fully focused on continuing to make progress on our One Ford plan. We do not engage in speculation," said Ford spokesman Jay Cooney.

Watch live as Mark Fields is officially named Ford's next CEO

Thu, 01 May 2014

We've heard rumblings of a changing of the guard at Ford, and this live stream from The Blue Oval itself is set to confirm the rumors: Alan Mulally will be succeeded by the automaker's current Chief Operating Officer, Mark Fields.
Mulally, who is 68 years old, has served at the head of Ford for eight years, and his official retirement date will be July 1st, 2014. Fields, who is 53 this year, has been with Ford for 25 years and has been groomed to take the helm from Mulally for the last several of those years.
There's an official press release that you can read, but if you're more of a visual person, you're welcome to watch the live video feed of the announcement down below.
