INCREDIBLE CAR!   1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Red with White Top, Red inside.  One of a kind.  Original and amazing.  352 engine.  RARE CAR this one has AC that works and the dealer put it in. That is a $3,000 upgrade and a must have.  Drives and starts like a champ.  I am in the music business, I wanted a fancy car and did not know about the popularity of this car.  I drive it and I get stopped every mile.  HEAD TURNER.   I have two sets of wheels that come with it.  New Tires on both.  This car is just a great car.  Starts on  a dime.  Blows cold air.  I drive it to work and all around I don't want a car to put in my driveway.  I wanted one to drive.  Wheels cost me about 1600.00.  Just put them on.  Interior for this car is a 8 and for a 1965 original, a 9.0.   AM radio.  Antenna was in trunk when I got it.  Trunk and carpet is almost mint.  Just a great ride and a great ROD.   Engine is clean.  My mechanic said "just a damn solid buy Chris."      My best offer price is not far off so no low ball offers.   Gas Monkey sold one of these for about $24,000.   This car is rising at about 30 percent per year.  This car will be worth $25,000 in a few years.  I looked at 1975 Trans Ams and three years ago they were $12,000 now they are $24,000.  This car is more rare than that car.  Mine is a charmer.   I have it listed now a few other places and so if it sells I reserve the right to remove listing.   This car has the ORIGINAL BROCHURE from 1965 and a book of receipts all the way back to the 80's.

Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.

Ford and Chrysler reducing summer plant shutdowns

Wed, 22 May 2013

Most domestic automaker assembly plants traditionally take a couple of weeks off during the summer. The shutdowns give each plant time for much needed repairs and maintenance, and in some cases, help better align production with demand. Not this year, though, as demand for many models is outstripping what Ford, Chrysler and General Motors plants can produce.
Ford has announced that it will shorten its annual summer shutdown for most North American plants from two weeks to one. The shorter shutdown will increase the carmaker's annual North American production by 40,000 units on top of the 200,000 extra units that it was already planning to produce this year versus last. Automotive News reports that Ford produced 2.8 million vehicles on this continent in 2012, and that output this year has already increased 13 percent through April.
Chrysler, meanwhile, is also operating at full tilt and plans to run some plants through the summer with no shutdown at all. Those not getting a break include Jefferson North where the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are assembled, Toledo North that will assemble the new Cherokee, and Conner Avenue, home of SRT Viper production. Other assembly plants will be down for a single week, while all of Chrysler's engine and transmission plants except one in Indiana will continue operating with no shutdown this summer.
