Up for auction a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 with less than 102,000 actual miles. I purchased the car from a man who told me it was a garage find that he bought from an older woman. The car had belonged to her deceased husband. All original with the exception of a re-painting. Very solid car with very little rust and scrapes. These are shown in the pictures. I have owned this car for 13 years where it has sat in either my garage or barn. It has a 352 motor and a Cruiseomatic transmission, but is currently not running. The engine does turn over, but needs the gas tank cleaned and the brakes serviced to be drivable. It is not a show car, but is very restorable. It needs the interior redone including the headliner which is missing. The exterior needs some TLC and a quality paint job to restore it's true beauty. After I purchased the car in 2000, I put a whole new front end in including ball joints and idler arm. I believe my mechanic said it needed one more tie rod to be completed. I brought the car home with the intention of completing the restoration, but procrastinated and never finished the project. I am downsizing my home and possessions and no longer want to pursue completing this car. This vehicle is an amazing survivor and is fun to drive. Buyer will be responsible for transporting vehicle and the cost associated with the transport. I am setting a low reserve and have this car for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early. I use Paypal and prefer cash on pick up. Please, serious bidders only! Call me for any questions you may have about this vehicle. I prefer not to have text messages. Thanks for looking. Kerry 317.989.4434

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.

NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
