For sale, a nice 2008 Fusion base sedan, fleet car in a local fleet since new, an assigned car, one driver for the bulk of its life. Serviced by the local Ford dealer since new. Nearly new Michelin tires, less than 6000 miles on them, AC, cruise, tilt, power windows & locks, brakes replaced front & rear less than 12000 miles ago, fresh oil change, just passed Virginia state inspection in February. Minor parking lot scratches that you'd see on any car of this age/mileage, no real damage to it, it runs and drives great, and everything works. Low reserve, priced to move. DO NOT bid unless you intend to buy please, I have no time for games. Car sold as is with no warranty on any system. That said, I've driven this car over 1000 miles in the past month, and would have no problem driving it anywhere. I will deliver the car to you at $2.50 per mile, round trip, via rollback carrier if you like, or if you're out of town, fly in and drive it home, we are 3 miles from the airport and I'll pick you up. I require a $500.00 non-refunded deposit within three days of auction closing, which you can pay via paypal or by sending a bank check. ALL CHECKS MUST CLEAR MY BANK BEFORE YOU TAKE DELIVERY OF THE CAR. That means that if you send a deposit, then come in person to pick up the car, you MUST HAVE CASH FOR THE BALANCE, I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT. Ford's official Euro aftermarket partner Mountune coming to US
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Now that we're getting a steady stream of Ford's European offerings, the aftermarket world is finally starting to catch up as well. UK-based aftermarket tuning company, Mountune has just announced that it will be setting up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles including the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.
Mountune lays claim to being Ford's "official European tuning partner," and US buyers will soon have access to these parts through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty. Speaking of Ford Racing, Mountune also says that it will be working with Ford's in-house team to develop future components for both street and track. There are no specifics as of yet for which products will be offered here, but the company plans to launch a US-specific website later this month with more information.
Ford Mustang hit by Moore' Oklahoma's EF5 tornado lives to do another burnout
Fri, 07 Jun 2013Oklahoma recently saw the destructive power of an EF5 tornado, but in the aftermath of the devastation, we've also been witness to the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Moore, OK resident Jack Haden survived the storm but found that his 2003 Ford Mustang wasn't quite as lucky. As you can see in the image above, the tornado's 200+ mph winds did quite a number on the car, but while most people would have likely called their insurance company and scrapped the car, Haden had other plans.
After finding the car and seeing that its V6 still fired up, Haden spent a couple hours getting the car, um... roadworthy(?)... by removing the doors and front clip, cutting off the roof and putting on some new wheels and tires. He noticed that driving it around brought some comic relief to an area that needed a reason to laugh and smile. Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.
