  • Note: I bought this car when it had 10000 miles on it in 2005. Most of the miles on it now are highway miles. It has had the oil changed every 3000 miles and been kept tuned and filters changed on a regular basis. Last year it was starting to get rust on the bottoms of all four doors, so I hired a body shop to cut out all of the bad metal and weld on new. While it was in the shop I had them replace the struts and shocks. This cost $1800. I have all of those receipts. Also I had the transmission rebuilt do to a faulty torque converter. This was covered by a Ford Recall. I also have that receipt.
  • This car is in excellent condition and is valued by Kelly Blue Book at $5900 even with the mileage. There is no rust, dents, scratches, or ripped upholstery. It does not use any oil or have any leaks. It is as clean underneath as it is on top. It gets about 22 mpg.
  • I have never permitted smoking in this car
  • It is the winning bidders responsibility to pick up the car
  • $500 non-refundable deposit is required 24 hours after auction ends and remainder required no latter than seven days.

Introducing the 1965 Ford Mustang

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

Put on your space suits and diving bell helmets, for it's time to step into a time capsule. The 50th anniversary of a historic model, like, say, the Porsche 911 this year, is certain to bring flights of nostalgia. This historical trip with the 1965 Mustang, though - preliminary hype for next year's anniversary, we know - is a swell museum exhibit for anyone who enjoys bygone days of the automobile.
Lee Iaccoca gave a speech to motoring journalists on April 1, 1964 at the New York World's Fair to introduce a sporty car for younger drivers. His opening line: "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to one of the proudest moments of our lives." The company was so excited by what it had made that the Mustang was Ford's first "International Press Introduction," being introduced to some 2,000 journos around the world on the same day in the US and 11 European cities. Even through its difficult points, no one at the time could have known how well the Mustang would acquit that pride.
After the intro, the press drove Mustangs 750 miles from New York to Dearborn, MI, reading press kits that touted features like the "vertical, three-sectional taillights/turn signals," "170" six-cylinder engine with 101 horsepower and the available Cruise-O-Matic transmission.

We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.
