MUCH TO MY REGRET I MUST SELL MY 1990 FORD FESTIVA

I LOVE THIS LITTLE CAR.  IT HAS BEEN

A GREAT GAS SAVER FOR ME.  I DROVE IT TO

PA AND BACK ABOUT A MONTH AGO.

LATELY THE CAR HAS BEEN GETTING SLUGGISH AND I

BELIEVE IT JUMPED TIMING.  IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER

TO GO FROM 0 TO 15MPH AND THEN WOULD NOT LIKE

TO GO OVER 55.  ANYWAY, I HAD SOMEONE COME

OVER TO TRY TO WORK ON IT FOR ME AND

NOW IT WON'T START.  FIRST HE TRIED TO SET THE

IDLE, SAID HE NEEDED TO DO THAT BEFORE HE COULD DO TIMING.

WELL NOT IT WON'T START, IT TRIES TO, BUT WON'T.

I WAS TOLD THAT HE DID NOT THINK IT WAS THE TIMING, BUT THE

DISTRIBUTOR OR THE COMPUTER .  ANYWAY, I JUST CAN'T

HAVE SOMEONE WORK ON IT ANYMORE. I HAVE ANOTHER

VEHICLE, THAT I DRIVE A TRUCK, AND I CAN NOT AFFORD TO

KEEP BOTH.  (THE GAS FOR THE FESTIVA WAS $32 A FILL UP)

THE TRUCK IS $100.  I AM WORKING ALL THE TIME AND I JUST

DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO MESS WITH IT ANY MORE.

IT WILL MAKE SOMEONE A GOOD LITTLE CAR, ONCE YOU GET IT

RUNNING AGAIN.

IF YOU WIN THE BID ON IT, YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED FROM MY HOME.

IF IT WAS RUNNING RIGHT NOW, I WOULD PUT A RESERVE ON IT, BUT IT IS NOT.

MY LOSS YOUR GAIN, HAPPY BIDDING.

Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.

Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.

Ford looks back on 50 years of the Mustang in Detroit

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Ford has something special sitting in its booth here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. In fact, it brought two special somethings in the form of the Ford Mustang 1 Concept that first saw the light of day in 1962 and the very first production Mustang that rolled off the production line in 1964.
These classic creations are sharing floor space with the brand-new 2014 Mustang in honor of the pony car's 50th Anniversary. Since Ford's latest 'Stang already made its auto show debut (at a number of locations, including Los Angeles), we think it's pretty cool that the Blue Oval did something special for its home-town show.
Check out both the Mustang 1 Concept and first production 1964.5 Mustang above and below.
