1963 Ford Falcon Sprint Rare Car. Unique Body Style V-8 5 Speed on 2040-cars

Year:1963 Mileage:74000
Location:

Humble, Texas, United States

I bought this as a project to do with my kid.  Life has changed and it is not going to get done.  It is a driver at present but it is still a project.  It sat for 7 years till I decided to let it go.  The guy I bought it from died shortly after sending it to me so there was no sending it back.  It was not as described but he was sick so I just kept it and was going to help my kid fix it right.  63 Falcon Sprint.   A real one. That is the good news. Bad news is that it has been modified.  302 Roller Motor from an HO  .  Has a mild solid roller cam.   Sounds great.  Has great low end.  Electronic distributor.  (Ford).  Starts with one half turn of the crank.  T-5 five speed with after market shifter.  Growls some in 3rd gear but shifts great.  Has a scattershield.  Clutch unknown.  No chatter.  No slip.  Shorty headers.  Flowmasters  (quiet must be Deltaflows). 9 " rear.  31 spline axles.  Detroit Locker.  Traction Bars.  They work.  This thing will do a burn out till next Tuesday without much effort.  Griffin radiator, aluminum.  Electric fan.  Cable clutch. Brand new ignition switch.  Battery in the trunk.

Tires will do to move it around and do burn outs but don't go too far.  I have done the safety stuff already.  It has rebuilt alternator, new regulator,  all wiring fixed for the charging circuit and it makes 14.1 volts.  Fuel lines are replaced so no fuel leaks.    It has a new Holley 670 street Avenger.  Works great.  Holley red pump.  Pressure regulator.  7 psi.
Interior is very tired.  Has some kind of after market buckets in the front. Car looks orange in the interior pics because I used the flash. It really is red. Has the Sprint console.  After market gauges in the dash actually work.

I will answer any questions the best I can.  I did not get too deep into this so some things I don't know.  It really does run like a champ and it has good oil pressure, 70 psi.  And I have not been able to make it run over 180 degrees.

We are busy racing cars and I have 2 other "whole car projects" so this one is not going to get done by me. Someone find it a home!!  Good basics are here.  Ask questions before you buy.  I will tell you everything I know.

Shipping is on you.  Cash or cashiers check US banks only.

Ford recalling 65k Fusions from 2014 and 2015 because key can be removed

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Ford is recalling an estimated 64,869 examples of the 2014-2015 Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid in North America because the key can be removed when the vehicle isn't in Park under certain conditions. Specifically, the campaign covers 56,479 units in the US, 6,048 in Canada and 2,342 in Mexico, according to the automaker's tally on November 11.
Ford says a programming problem in the instrument cluster means that the key can be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. The situation where this could happen seems quite limited, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. However, the fault puts the vehicle out of compliance with federal regulations covering theft protection and rollaways, and must be repaired.
The fix is easy: Ford will reprogram the instrument cluster at no cost to consumers. According to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker in an email to Autoblog, "We will notify customers the week of January 5th." Scroll down to read Ford's announcement.

Ford Escort returns, just not for US

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

Ford is set to give the burgeoning Chinese market its very own C-segment model, while also reviving one of the brand's more notable nameplates. The new Escort, which will make its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show will be built in the People's Republic at the Changan Ford joint venture facility.
The Escort's exterior is best thought of as a mix of the finer points from the US market Focus and Fusion, with the Aston Martin-ish grille and narrow, wraparound taillights presenting a clean look at either end of the car. It's all fairly true to the concept car from last year's Shanghai Motor Show. That said, this exterior job is almost too clean. There doesn't seem to be a lot of character or substance beyond the typical Ford looks.
There's a similar issue in the cabin - it all looks pretty nice, but the design is rather plain, particularly when viewed alongside the display-filled cabin of a US-spec car. Still, there looks to be a fair amount of space in both the front and back seats, and the trunk isn't exactly tiny, either.

Social media star Scott Monty leaves Ford

Thu, 22 May 2014

It seems weird to think that an automaker could have a social media star, but Ford does. Or at least it did. Scott Monty, its Global Digital Communications Manager, led the company's team for almost six years and forged a reputation as being one of the most talented people in corporate social media. But the guru recently announced that he would be leaving the automaker for an undisclosed job elsewhere.
"I just decided the time was right. I am going to take a little time with my family, and I am going to start on a new adventure pretty soon," said Monty in an interview with AdWeek. He also explained a little about his theory of how companies should use social media. In his opinion, it should be a chance to go beyond standard marketing and build a relationship with people. Businesses need to have a broad focus for its online message, and using just one service isn't enough to be successful.
Under his guidance, Ford expanded its Facebook presence significantly. According to AdWeek, it launched the 2010 Explorer on the popular site. Also, when the company wanted to investigate selling electric models, it initially gauged the public's reaction on Facebook and then advertised them there first. Monty has been a major supporter of Twitter as well to broaden the company's communication with the public.
