I REMOVED THE ENGINE AND HAD IT PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT (See pics of engine coming out). WHILE THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED , I DETAILED THE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT (see pics of firewall painting), REPLACED SEVERAL WIRING HARNESSES, NEW BATTERY TRAY, NEW BATTERY AND BATTERY HOLD DOWN, NEW BATTERY CABLES. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS SPENT AT LARRYS, TEE-BIRD PRODUCTS, DENNIS CARPENTER, PLUS INDIVIDUAL PARTS SUPPLIERS FOR NEW ORIGINAL PARTS. NEED PROOF, I WILL CONVEY ALL PARTS INVOICES TO THE BUYER. THE PAINT JOB IS ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD AND IT STILL HOLDS A NICE SHINE. I RECENTLY HAD A PROFESSIONAL PAINTER TOUCH UP A FEW FLAWS IN THE PAINT. INCLUDED WITH THE CAR ARE BOTH CANS OF COMPUTERIZED MATCHED BLUE AND WHITE PAINT. BOTH VENT WINDOWS ARE ORIGINAL AND THEY HAVE DEVELOPED AIR BUBBLES, THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED. HEY, CHECK OUT THE ' 56 MERCURY COLOR DIVIDER STAINLESS STEEL TRIM I ADDED JUST UNDER THE FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS (see pics of painting). THIS TRIM IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE, BUT IT ADDS SUCH A NICE TOUCH TO THE '56 VICKY AS DOES THE ORIGINAL "DOG DISH" F O R D HUBCAPS AND BEAUTY RINGS. (I have two of the original full wheel Ford hubcaps) I ADDED NEW CORRECT OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS, NEW CORRECT ANTENNA, NEW STONE GUARDS ON THE FENDER SKIRTS, NEW TRUNK EMBLEM BEZEL, NEW "FAIRLANE" HOOD SCRIPT, NEW TRUNK MAT, (the white color on the matt is a camera shadow), CORRECT ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE RETAINER AND WING NUT, NEW HEATER CORE, THE RADIATOR WAS SENT OUT AND RESTORED, 4 NEW RADIAL WIDE WHITEWALLTIRES. THE ORIGINAL AM RADIO IS THE DESIRED "TOWN & COUNTRY STYLE. THERE IS ALSO IS AN AFTER MARKET AM/FM RADIO WITH DUAL REAR SPEAKERS GIVING THE VICKY SOME COOL TUNES. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS SOLID AND ABSOLUTLY NO RUST. I HAVE NOT DETAILED TOO MUCH OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE BUT I DID PAINT A COAT OF POR-15 CHASSIC FENDER BLACK PAINT ON THE BUMPER BRACKETS, FRAME, CROSS MEMBERS, AND AND LEAF SPRINGS. THERE IS STILL SIGNS OF OIL THAT LEAKED FROM THE ENGINE PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL AND REBUILD. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE REBUILT ENGINE DOES NOT LEAK A DROP OF OIL ! MY RESERVE IS LOW ENOUGH TO ALLOW PLENTY OF $$ ROOM TO DETAIL THE UNDERCARRIAGE CORRECTLY AND REPLACE THE VENT WINDOWS. I HAVE DONE MY BEST TO BRING THIS VICTORIA BACK TO IT'S ORGINAL BEAUTY OF YESTERYEAR I CAN BE REACHED AT 757-620-7733, Thanks for looking, Charlie

Project Ugly Horse: Part VII
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.
Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects
Thu, 16 May 2013Three Ford owners from Ohio have filed a lawsuit against the automaker over defects that they allege exist within the company's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Automotive News reports that the lawsuit claims the engine "contained serious latent design, manufacturing, or assembly defects." Those defects, the suit claims, cause the vehicle to shake, misfire and lose power quickly.
Two of the plaintiffs, a married couple, own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and allege they experienced a loss of power and stalling, while the third, an F-150 owner, claims he lost power while accelerating. In addition to the Taurus SHO and F-150, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine is also available in the Ford Flex, Explorer Sport and Lincoln MKT and MKS. Other three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines are not included in the suit. There have been no recalls associated with 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently not investigating the matter.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Ford has known about the problem, citing several technical service bulletins issued to dealers of the F-150 that suggest possible fixes. Ford had no comment for Automotive News, saying that it's yet to review the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Columbus, OH.
