F350 LARIAT SHORT BED DUALLY - FACTORY ORDERED - ARIZONA TRUCK
I ORDERED THIS TRUCK FROM THE FACTORY FROM MY FORD DEALER IN MICHIGAN WHERE I SPEND SUMMERS. LABOR DAY I ALWAYS DRIVE BACK TO ARIZONA WHERE IT IS IN MY GARAGE, UNTIL THIS LAST FALL. IT HAS NEVER BEEN THROUGH A CAR WASH AND HAS BEEN PERSONALLY WASHED AND WAXED USING MAGUIAR'S AND THEIR ORBITAL WHEEL. IT HAS BEEN BABIED.
UPON PURCHASING IT I HAVE ADDED THE FOLLOWING:
F450 OXFORD WHITE GRILLE (NO CHROME HERE).
TITAN 52 GALLON REPLACEMENT TANK AND REPROGRAMMED COMPUTER.
CUSTOM SUN SHADE, OEM RUBBER MATS AS THE OIL BUILD UP AND HEAT IN ARIZONA WHICH IF NOT ADDED COULD CAUSE ASPHALT OR OIL TO TRACK INTO TRUCK ONTO CARPET.
SNUGTOP LOW PROFILE HARD TONNEAU IN FACTORY OXFORD WHITE AND DUAL LOCKS
OEM BED MAT
OEM CARPET MATS STILL IN DEALER'S BOX.
PIONEER AV Z2 30G COMPUTER NAVIGATION AND MUSIC LIBRARY SYSTEM - 7 INCH TOUCH SCREEN, VOICE COMMANDS, CD/DVD WITH LOCKOUT. This system is great, it has a points of interest which comes up camp grounds, motels, diesel, or whatever, by distance, then a phone number you only need to touch and its BLUETOOTH system calls handsfree. if you like what you hear, you just touch the screen and it adds a waypoint taking you there, then you may resume route. It has vocal turn by turn with picture of lanes etc, all in color and on a BIG screen.
It has BLUETOOTH handsfree talking/answering/dialing, Infrared radio/heat steering wheel controls.
TWIN ROSEN DVD players - headrest 7" screen DVDs with game control and head sets. They are set up to interact with all or any combination of the 3 screens. The Rosen can be separate DVD or slaved to either. YUP no kids fighting over movies and with headsets I did not have to listen to Mary Whats-her-name a billion times.
REAR CAMERA WITH NIGHT CAPABILITY WHEN PLACED INTO REVERSE.
ULTRA TYPE 014 POLISHED 17" WHEELS.
RECENTLY NEW, MICHELIN 265/70 R17 LTX AT2 TIRES "E" RATED QUIET AS A MOUSE BUT CAPABLE OF ANYTHING. A LITTLE WIDER PROFILE BUT THESE ARE REPLACEMENTS OF THE SAME TIRE I RAN OVER 80,000 ON.
NEW OEM WINDSHIELD WITH SUPERDUTY ETCHED IN TOP. I HAD A STONE SHIP SO REPLACED THE WHOLE THING. SO THERE SHOULD BE NO CHIPS OR DEFECTS IN THE WINDSHIELD.
HERE ARE SOME ADDITIONS TO THE LARIAT ( WHICH IS A LOADED TRUCK TO BEGIN WITH):
TOW COMMAND TRAILERING SYSTEM
FOLDING, HEATED, EXTENDABLE SIDE MIRRORS
POWER REAR WINDOW SLIDER
ADJUSTABLE GAS PEDAL
QUICK HEAT SYSTEM, ENGINE BLOCK HEATER (NEVER USED)
3.73 GEARING.
MOON ROOF
REAR PARKING ASSIST
60/40 SPLIT REAR SEAT WITH MANY CONFIGURATIONS - this will fold seat back down, or seat bottom up and then can fold out heavy duty metal floor rack - a combo of each side.
DUAL AUTO TEMP heat controls, tilt wheel, factory leather seating, folding and in/out adjustable heated mirrors, dual temp controls, 6 way dual power seats. Heated seats. Chrome step rails.
This truck has been babied and in may garage in Arizona until I moved to Michigan this year. It is garaged here too.
It has never been smoked in or in any kind of accident or used for commerical use. Only I and my wife have driven it.
I use Rotella synthetic oil. It has no dings or dents and only very very tiny stone chip in front and a couple in the tonneau lid where the bike rack broke. Its rear seat was always covered and the leather and carpet - the entire interior look brand new. I do have a GSD dog but where we traveled with her we had a custom seat cover we used.
When you do your research also consider this; when you calculate your ad ons, where will you get an non-commercial, babied Arizona truck with ALL the options, and more, not just a few?
I am sure I will be asked why I am selling? I moved to Michigan where my wife's and my family are. Voted most beautiful place nearby in US. Good for kids and since I moor my boat here all year, I don't have to pull it across the country. As a Rea Appraiser, I am driving a lot more than in the big city and no longer need such a big truck to tow my boat or drive across the country in the summer. But it is a great truck - best I have ever owned, without exception. Drive quieter than any other diesel I have riden in or driven - Please do the research or better yet test dive this or one like it. Rides better than any of our GMC Denalis or our '02 Tahoe LT.
Its rear sensors and camera WITH the SHORT BED make it a snap to park - easiest to back in. One lady pulled up to me to tell me how impressed she was I stopped and slid it right in backwards seamless. Well, it was easier than parking my wife's Audi convertible. No skill sets needed here.
I noticed Carfax ESTIMATES three (3) owners. That is INCORRECT. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN A TITLE OTHER THAN THE ORGINAL WHEN I PURCHASED IT. One continuous unbroken ownership. They are just wrong.
I WILL BE HEADING BACK TO ARIZONA IN A COUPLE WEEKS UNTIL SUMMER, PROBABLY DRIVING THE TRUCK.

2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Your Mileage May Vary
As difficult as it is to write this, I was actually excited about the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid. With the beautiful looks of the newest midsize fighter from Ford and a fuel economy estimate capable of shaming even the stalwart Camry Hybrid, the battery-augmented four-door seemed like a recipe for unabashed success. But appearances love nothing more than swapping our boundless enthusiasm for cold platters of disappointment. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid gets hobbled right out of the gate with a lofty price tag, and real-world driving keeps the sedan from even approaching those EPA figures.
With so many excellent midsize hybrids on the market, is there any reason to consider the newest Fusion Hybrid? Are sharp aesthetics, a well-executed interior and capable driving dynamics enough to overcome the machine's shortfalls? Not from where I'm standing.
Meet Floyd Pullin, 102-year-old honorary president of Ford trucks [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013When we talk about trucks we often talk about how loyal truck owners are; it's men like Floyd Pullin who provide the proof. The 102-year-old man from Confluence, Pennsylvania has only owned Ford products since the 1920s, and he's done so well by Ford Trucks that the division named him honorary president for a day, not long after he took delivery of his latest ride, a 2013 F-150 STX.
That's the 16th Ford he's owned. If he bought his first when he was 16, he'd have flipped into a new car or truck about every five years. For 86 years. Not a bad run of business for either side.
Ford Trucks made a video to wish Pullin a happy birthday, which was celebrated at his local Ford dealership and was visited by a Pennsylvania state senator. You can watch it below.
Ford gives police chiefs tech to surveil officers in their own cars
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Police officers certainly have a difficult job in keeping the streets safe, but as public employees in positions of authority, there is still a very real need for oversight. To that end, Ford is partnering with a tech company to offer a new system called Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement on its line of Police Interceptor patrol vehicles that could make cops safer, while giving cities a better idea of what its officers are doing.
The system streams live data about cruisers back to the home base to people like the police chief or shift supervisor. That info includes expected things like speed, location and cornering acceleration, but it gets incredibly granular as well, with records of things like if emergency lights are on, or even if an officer is wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement "ought to protect officers as much as it protects the public," said Ford spokesperson Chris Terry to Autoblog. Constantly monitoring patrol cars offers cities a lot of advantages, too. First, it reduces potential liability because a department can prove where each vehicle is at all times. Also, officers know they are being watched and may potentially drive more safely.
