Turbo Charged 7.3 Liter Diesel...

Clean inside and out. Starts right up, engine and transmission are spot on, absolutely no issues whatsoever. Fast, powerful, handles perfectly. This is the ideal tow vehicle as it has the power to pull almost anything on the road and with its frame mounted 5th wheel hitch and pintle hook. Also has diamond plated tool box. 256k miles, nothing for this type of engine. Absolutely no leaks or abnormal smoke. Also has K&N Cold Air Intake giving it even more horsepower and acceleration. And I use only synthetic oil.  Equipped with rear-view back up camera, Premium CD Player with Bluetooth and microphone for hands free cell use and loads of other functions and a TomTom Satellite Navigation Unit. AC blows ice cold. Vinyl upholstery is immaculate. Headliner is more on the worn side but still there. Tires are good. Brakes are good. Shocks are new. Manual doors, windows and locks.

Body does have some small dime size dings but nothing out of the ordinary for this kind of truck. The drivers side door is missing weather stripping and a small plastic cover. I just ordered both from Ford and will have them in a few days.  Operated and serviced by Desert Skies RV Resort just outside of Mesquite, NV. Its been an awesome work and service truck. Mostly used to move around RV's in and out of resort or two change spaces.

If you are long distance and would like the truck shipped, I can arrange to do so at a price of .85 cents per mile through Uship.com or you're more than welcome to make your own pickup/shipping arrangements.

Aussie Ford Falcon GT shows its rear end to Lamborghini Gallardo

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

When Ford Australia announces, as it did recently, that it wants to celebrate the end of its Ford Performance Vehicle division with a Falcon FPV GT-F that celebrates big-bore origins of the nameplate, it's talking about the kind of car in this video.
At some point the classic Falcon GT - said to be an XY series - was invited to a test of acceleration against a Lamborghini Gallardo. At the very least, the Falcon GT had a 351 cubic-inch motor and 300 horsepower, but whatever this guy's got under the hood of his yellow sedan makes has him so confident that he doesn't even move his elbow from its resting place on the door.
You'll find a reminder of Ford Australia's heyday, a raucous exhaust note and some NSFW language in the short video below.

Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?

Sun, 01 Jun 2014

Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it's replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.
This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that "the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake". Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda's assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.
We're waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda's claim, but if true, it's bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

Tue, 07 May 2013

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
