Very clean truck that came to me from Arizona. The truck is as clean as it looks in the pictures. From what I can tell this truck has had a few touch ups and minor repaint on the front left fender never restored and zero filler with no rust holes any where. The under side is as clean as the outside there are minor nicks and dings but no dents. The paint shines very nice though the hood is getting thin on color nothing major just making a note of it. As you can see in the pictures the truck is in excellent shape and I don't know where you would find a cleaner untouched 72 Ford.
The previous owner removed the worn out 360 and installed a low mile 351w that is matched to a rebuilt AOD transmission which came out of a 1985 Ford truck. The truck runs and sounds great with the new dual exhaust, the speedo is off slightly due to the change over from the c6 to the aod this I believe can be corrected with a new gear on the speedo cable, (@ 55 the speedometer shows 60). The truck is very solid and would make a great hot rod to drive as it is. The interior is stock and shows some wear on the arm rests nothing major just making a note of it. The seat could use recovering but has a seat cover that looks good for the truck and works. This truck is the last year of this body style and the year of the truck gets you into the vintage era and most car & truck shows, it is turn key and drive it as it is. Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft
Tue, 07 Jan 2014In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.
Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
